Baby, don`t say Bus! There are films that beat instantly and directly in the heart, and there are those that quietly and imperceptibly on soft legs sneak into your soul and fold into a warm glomerulus somewhere in the most secluded corner.
“Ways-Roads” belongs to the second type, it is an easy heartfelt movie without claims to cultism or masterpiece. There are no spectacular action scenes, heartbreaking passions, red-eyed rock beauties and romantic superheroes. The quiet life of an ordinary honest guy is shown, but not everything is so quiet and smooth in his life.
When Deepak gets an old school bus, he decides to open a transportation company called Roads. And here begins (or rather continues) his problems — honesty does not allow him to put up with bribery, corruption and venality, reigning in the world, which leads to clashes with the trade union leader, his own employees, and even his son-in-law. Plus, the life of a poor guy spoils also a girl who got under his bus.
In my opinion, Govinda succeeded in a characteristic role, his character gives what is happening on the screen a simple taste. It may not be the best movie, but one of those rare narratives that depends on the content and imagery of the characters. The film has a lot of subtle calm humor, scenes from the lives of ordinary people, events that could happen to any of us, no gloss, simple and understandable action. The film is a little drawn out and the plot slips in places, but still keeps you at the screen until the very end.
The disadvantages include the fact that they did not let Govinda’s dance talent unfold. There is only one song, but neither the music nor the dance is particularly memorable.
