Guitar sings about love In musical films, they often occupy not professional actors, but real singers, hoping that their fans will fill the cinemas. Suffice it to name such popular Soviet films as “Musical History” with Sergei Lemeshev or “The Woman Who Sings” with Alla Pugacheva. In foreign cinema, the number of such paintings is in the thousands. Here, performers are not required to have a high level of acting skills, and the plot is usually simple and involves a large number of musical numbers that allow the main characters to shine with their talents.
Among them was the Swiss singer Vico Torriani, who was extremely popular in Germany in the 1950s. At this time, he starred in a series of musical films, one of which ("Street Serenade") even got into the Soviet film distribution and enjoyed considerable success. In the musical comedy Guitars of Love, Torriani plays the role of Italian musician Roberto Trenti, who makes a living playing the guitar and singing at weddings. One day, he meets four friends from Germany who travel around Italy by car. Roberto helps them fix the car, and they, in turn, rescue him from a difficult situation. Soon they are joined by the charming singer Ilona, with whom Roberto immediately falls in love. Ilona hopes that Roberto will replace her on tour with a famous orchestra, as she wants to terminate the contract for personal reasons.
The plot, based on a banal love affair, is not of particular interest, and the film itself resembles a colorful tourist brochure with picturesque Italian landscapes. Only beautiful melodic songs, sung with a pleasant voice of Torriani, allow you to recommend the tape to fans of old rhythms.
