Great Britain. 1897. In the town of Stoke-on-Trent, people began to disappear. The investigation is taken by local Dr. Richard Howell. The solution to the disappearances is close, but it also disappears. His younger brother Newlin learns about it from the mysterious Mr. Pyre. Together they arrive at Richard’s house, where they meet Anna Fitzgerald, a correspondent for the local newspaper and an acquaintance of the elder Howell. And this small company begins their investigation, which leads them to Mr. Hamlock - the manufacturer of the famous porcelain. after a visit to his estate, Anna and Newlin learn about the existence of vampires. Real bloodsucking vampires. And Mr. Pyre is mysterious because he has known about vampires for a long time, because he is a hereditary bloodsucker hunter. Newlin will have to become a hero, but will he withstand, because there are so many upheavals and discoveries ahead?
It would seem that vampirism in the movie is shown from all sides, and nothing new will happen. But then Chris Stone comes along and Blood and the Chinese Service is a really cool miniseries! 12 series of chapters lasting from 5 to 18 minutes are very dynamic and exciting.
The budget of the series is meager, so there are no famous actors here. For many artists, this is the first or one of the first roles, but this does not prevent them from being chic! Provincial veterinarian, coward and alarmist Newlin performed by Anthony Miles is gorgeous! Brave and charming Anna performed by Rachel Shenton is gorgeous! Charismatic and mysterious Alexander Pyre in the performance of John James Woodward is chic! Sexual temptress Lady Victoria performed by Lara deLew is sexy! The adorable and inventive Mr. Hamlock is gorgeous! The exhausted Leonora is gorgeous! Amazing and intelligent boy Aaron is gorgeous! Why am I wasting my words? They're all good!
Once again about Chris Stone - he is here and the director, and the cameraman, and the writer, the editing is also on his conscience. And one thing didn't stop the other.
Decorators and costumers did not have much money, but did their job perfectly. Music is everywhere. The opening credits are very cheerful. I really liked it! The series is very unusual and worthwhile.
