A comedian is the best job in the world, the best job when you reach my level. ? “Anthony, if you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?”
I said, "Well, I don't know... with Caligula."
This StandUp performance by American comedian Anthony Jeselnik, whom many call one of the brightest discoveries in this genre, has been watched by me so many times that I have almost memorized it. Jeselnik is 34, but he gained wide popularity only after his recent performances. Jeanne Anthony is a black, vulgar and cruel online (from the English "one line", that is, short jokes following each other), which he skillfully combines into one performance with various skillful transitions, observing his image of an arrogant insensitive cynic, and masterfully working with facial expressions, gestures and pauses (the same direction is followed by the famous comedian Jimmy Carr).
In my opinion, in general, humor is something that requires non-standard thinking, breadth of views, readability, and Jeselnik is one of the main and most interesting representatives of this art. Over time, it seems to me, humor becomes tougher and vulgar, and “blacker” because tolerance is very quickly developed to it, a joke is just an innocent reason to distract from the usual household environment and laugh well at abstract topics (in this case, deaths and rape).
Antony’s intense love for his performances on a comedy channel allowed him to open his own project “The Jeselnik Offensive”, a show where comedians come and discuss current topics of American news. Something like "Spotlightperiskhilton", but in my opinion, the Western "necessary" version is funnier.
“Caligula” is probably the funniest standup I’ve ever seen. And the thing, in addition to the presentation, artistic skills and image, is that the density of funny moments is very high, for forty minutes of a concert, the hall laughs exactly more than forty times. I think that in addition to the growth of stand-ups of other genres, obscene and having references to their own loved ones (which makes the listener irrelevant to the situation, so that it is even easier to laugh at) will also gain momentum and popularity.
"I once went on a trip with a girl. Her idea. And on the hike, she was stung by a snake, right between her two toes. And I had to suck the poison. Anyway, she's dead.
“My girlfriend lives two blocks away from me. Last night she called me, "Anthony!" Someone is trying to break into my apartment! I dropped my phone! The adrenaline in me boiled so that I could barely sleep later.
