Old jeans are like old friendship - the older the friendship, the stronger and more valuable it is. I watched this film on the filmography Rati Agnihotri, although in fact she has a very tiny role here, from five minutes for the entire film will be collected. She played the mother of one of the main characters. In general, of all the actors in this film, I know only two - Rati Agnihotri, who is already quite elderly, and Sarika, an actress of the 80s who is also already retired and a little fat, but still retains cuteness and charm, as well as Rati. I don’t know any other actors, I’ve seen them all for the first time, especially young ones.
This film tells the story of the friendship of five childhood friends (something reminiscent of the film "Three Idiots", only here are five friends), living in the picturesque small town Kasauli, in Kerala. Little squishy spectacle Dry (Susie), clumsy fatty Tivari (Tina), muscular ladies' man Balvinder (Bobbe), romantic and poet Seid/b>, the whole company /i>/b>Seid/b>/i>/i>/i>, /i>/i>/i>/i>/i>/i>/i>/i>/i>, Sid/i>/i>/i>/i/i/i>/i/i>/i>/i>/i
Actually around Sam and the whole story revolves. The guy from a wealthy family, lives in the most beautiful and large mansion of Kasauli (their house stands on a hill and is visible from anywhere in the city), studies in London, dreams of creating his own rock band and writing music, and always brings his friends foreign gifts. Sam has everything in life he wants, except the most necessary - parental love. His father is the grandson of former Viceroy Shimla and a descendant of English aristocrats, and his mother is a princess of the Principality of Haridwar. When Sam was 6 years old, his father had an affair with a foreigner and fled with her to Paris, and his mother could not accept it and began to drink. Then she married a second time, but it did not bring her happiness, the second husband only uses her money to develop his business. Sam has no relationship with his stepfather, they both do not tolerate each other’s spirit, and tolerate each other only because of the mother, who also does not pay attention to her son, and every day is “under the degree”. The guy goes out of his way to win the love of his mother, studies perfectly, participates in many competitions and wins major prizes, writes poems and songs dedicated to his mother, and suffers very much from her inattention to him and complete detachment. His only salvation is his friends who love him as he is.
The guys call themselves Kasauli Cowboys, and even have their own Cowboy Code, with important rules for them: 1. Never lose sight of each other, no matter what happens in life and wherever fate throws. 2. Never intrude on your friend’s girlfriend; 3. Every summer, go on vacation to Kasauli and gather at your favorite place. 4. Always wear old jeans on vacation, because they are like old friendships - the older, the more valuable. And all the rules are strictly observed by friends until a new girl appears in the city Nayantara, with whom two guys from the "cowboys" fall in love at the same time - Siddu and Sam.
This is where the main challenges for friends begin. Sidd does not want to cause pain Sema, and does not talk about his feelings for Nayantara, and Sam without knowing about his feelings Sidd, on the contrary, in colors he tells Sidd and the guys about his relationship with It turns out a kind of love triangle, which ultimately leads to the fact that Siddu leaves for America and disappears from the field of view of friends for a long 12 years (and of course does not come every summer to Kasauli).
I didn’t like this girl very much. She rattled the heads of both guys, loved (did she love?) one, walked with the other, and was going to marry a third, whom her father found her. She quarreled with friends, she could not understand what she ultimately needs from life, from love, and in general with whom she wants to live. I saw this actress Isabel Leith for the first time, she is beautiful, but only. Charma, some youthful charm, tenderness, touchingness in it is not absolutely, flat some, completely indifferent to everything. And her heroine, a selfish, bitchy, cheeky girl, and what you can fall in love with there, is not at all clear. In general, I did not like the main character at all.
The actor who played Siddu, Tanuj Vinvari, turns out to be the son of actress Rati Agnihotri (who played his screen mother here). I also saw him for the first time, and I cannot say anything about his acting abilities, I did not really see him.
Aditya Seal, who played Sam, is a pretty handsome guy and I saw him for the first time. He and his character liked it very much. He is a very emotional actor who has drawn all the attention to himself. His character turned out to be the main character, and not the character Siddu, as indicated in the description. You can see that the guy has potential, and he may well become a good serial actor.
In general, all the types, all the young actors in this film are more suitable for TV shows, in my opinion, or for youth comedies. But what they are in serious films, I can not even imagine, after the first film is difficult to understand.
The other three guys weren't bad for their type, and they liked it. Like Sarika, who played the mother of Sama, who portrayed an aristocratic woman who was always half drunk. Sometimes it felt like she was actually drinking whiskey (not fake tea) and really getting drunk. Very plausible.
The story is good, but not new. The actors generally coped with the roles, each was in his place. True friendship is shown reliably, the guys tried very hard. From the picturesque views of Kasauli is breathtaking, I think there is no such beauty anywhere else in India. This is probably the most visited place in Kerala, judging by the number of foreigners, especially foreign women. Even two of his friends, Tina and Susie, later married two Canadian cousins who are naturally fair-skinned blondes. And their children were light-skinned.
The songs are very lyrical and romantic, I especially liked the song "Sam" for my mother, heartfelt, very melodic. The dance of friends who met after a long separation is also quite good, the guys tried, although not everyone was able to move in time, especially the fat man.
All lovers of such stories are advised to watch. Something fresh in Indian cinema.
