The richest movie. There is enough meaning for any viewer. If I didn’t like the second part, it’s all too corny and predictable. That first part of the story is opposite: it carries many possible meanings to the most refined perception. So what do we see?! The games of Shiva, who descended to Earth to rest from his omnipotence. Shiva meets Shakti and tries to free her from the role and remove her mask. Bring her to ahimsa. And he does. For a while. For a moment. And then, when the willful Shakti again pulls on the gas mask, oh sorry, the mask of the warrior, then Shiva does not refuse his beloved. “If you like life in a contogosa, oh sorry, in a mask, then I will wear my gas mask, oh sorry, the mask of a warrior!”
He wears a mask that he never dreamed of. After that, the beloved somehow fades, hangs out in the background! But this is true: women should not play men's games, men do it better. At least in Indian culture, which is not yet emancipated.
And the whole chimsa begins! And heemsa, as Leela teaches us, leads the player into purgatory! So Shiva turns into Hercules, oh sorry in Bahubali, and begins to clean the stables, oh sorry, the kingdom and clean up after his father, or himself, for his own past incarnation. It is not so easy to understand the games of the gods!
And all this is presented magnificently, masterfully with all the luxury of Indian cinema!
The result?! Ahimsa - good, beautiful, divine! But Himsa is much more fun and dynamic. Boring without Himsa to the heavenly. They have fun as they can!
The first part of the tape, the moment the main character is asked to wear the mask of Bahubali, gives the impression of incredible delight. The creators are perfectly devoted to transmitting the energy of the celestials on Earth. I was preparing to do ten balls. But then the energy changes. And that's true, but it's disappointing. But it's very true. Earth is not paradise, but purgatory. Still, I won't bet ten. And the filmmakers are not to blame for lowering my grade. It's hard for me to survive the loss of paradise. We are waiting for the third part.
What's the movie about? You know, you can endlessly explain to a person what the sign of the zodiac - Leo, in its purest manifestation, but it is enough to watch this movie 1 time to understand. This, in reality, I have not met, I think no one has ever met (this is an idealized image). But of course you've heard stories like this. It is part of our cultural code.
These are stories about the “son of the sun, born of the union of earthly and divine,” if metaphorical. Born to rule and warm with his warmth all who can touch him. True, afterwards sacrificed by foolish men to atone for their own sins and to show the truth of the imperfection of human nature, but these are details. From culture to culture, this story is repeated and rewritten. The most recent and modern adaptation that almost everyone has seen is The Matrix.
Bahubali is an alternative Indian version. The story of one family and a whole people, the story of honor and duty, courage and cowardice, femininity and masculinity, strength and weakness, faith and knowledge. The only thing that can confuse this film (but only by inattention) is that there the same actor plays first the main character-son, and then, he, the protagonist-father (in the second part, again the hero-son). And so, I think this film is recommended for everyone who wants to understand what it means to “light your sun”.
Of course, this film is not suitable for everyone, for various reasons. To some, it may just seem very long. Both parts are over 3 hours. Hardly suitable for lovers of Marvel and other things, this film is not about the “spectacular mahachi” and Scarlet Johansson in latex. To a typical person of the “modern Western world” with values like “buy and sell go and don’t get in the way” – I do not recommend watching this (especially Indian cinema). Also, I do not recommend to those who actively advocate for gender equality - in the film it is very clearly shown that it did not exist, does not exist and never will, because there can be no equal that is fundamentally different in its existential essence.
Everyone else, as they say, welcome.
p.s. watch only with subtitles, Indian songs are a full part of the storyline.

Good time! From the very first moments you realize that you will be told a beautiful legend about the fact that there are women in Ru, or rather Indian villages, about powerful heroes, bloodthirsty villains and evil sorcerers. So it will happen, and getting into the genre of legend in the film for a hundred! Legendary conquest of nature, legends of love and legendary battles! And you accept the conditions of the genre immediately, trusting everything, because it could not be otherwise. Often, the viewer laughs that in Indian films it is customary to sing and dance on the lawns and one left to throw hundreds of enemies on the ground, but in this film, the genre needs only that. Although I would have seen the dances and songs in this film.
The actors are all good! Everyone remembers something of their own, empathize even with extras and characters with one phrase. I don’t want to say that he played better than others. I saw a well-chosen acting ensemble, where everyone is in his place, every diamond necklace. Passions boil, love boils, swords ring. Swords, the fact that the whole war is interesting to watch. I’ll tell you the same thing about translators.
Humor is light, exquisite, in moderation!
The landscapes are beautiful, the costumes are gorgeous, the scenery is rich! Well, some sword crosses may look plastic, but it's very subjective. Mass scenes are full of variety. I like the special effects, I believe. The music is nice and the sounds are professional.
Hyperbole is correct, allegories are clear, continuation is desired. I wish everyone a pleasant viewing, put on a robe and turma, surround yourself with flower fragrances, pillows, oriental souvenirs and do not forget to shout enthusiastically with the people: “Bahubali!”

I decided to watch after accidentally seeing a trailer that did not smell like the usual for Indian films repulsive cheap pathos. Quite the contrary – even those brief moments of the film had a certain mystical appeal, as if they made it clear that I would not see a restful sleep until I saw this film.
Finally, a few days later, I carved out a good three hours to see this incredible quilt in all its brilliance and splendor. And what can I say about what I saw? The film didn't just live up to my wildest expectations - it's awesome! More than two hours passed like a moment. I haven’t felt that way in a very, very long time. Never in the whole picture was there a desire to miss the “boring scene”, because in this film there is simply no such thing. Dancing is quite rare and doesn’t just happen. Simply put, you will not see dancing for the sake of dancing here - if someone is dancing, then it looks meaningful, logical, and fitting.
Most of the time the picture takes action. I will immediately make a reservation that this picture is not for fans of ultra-thin psychology and other puppy elegance - everything is simple and masculine. And in general, the film can be quite confidently called masculine by Indian standards. Heroes were born for their roles—rulers rule, warriors fight, and women are women. Grotesqueness and brutal pathos gracefully fit into the action taking place on the screen. The fighting scenes are made well and exciting. Most importantly, there is no sense of cheapness. Even with places catching the eye of mediocre computer graphics, the sensation of viewing does not fade one iota. The degree of action grows with every minute, reaching its climax towards the end of the tape. That’s exactly what it’s worth watching movies for. I will review it more than once, but for now, at the time of writing the review, I am preparing and anticipating, greedily swallowing drool, to see the second part.
Personally, the picture reminds me very much of the underrated, in my humble opinion, film Gods of Egypt. And all because it is not a cheap ostentatious pseudo-epicity of Marvel and similar creations, with a slight taste of household. This is a film without falsehood – everything that happens on the screen immerses the viewer in a fairy tale, in a time of legends, incredible tales and myths, which they will become for us. But for those living there on the other side of the screen, it's their only reality, which they take for granted, and the other doesn't know. It is this extremely important feature that is so difficult to meet in modern cinema, and its absence cannot be hidden behind any special effects. Especially this sins Hollywood, with its thirst to show the legendary heroes by ordinary guys, to make it easier to empathize with them – this, again, in my humble opinion, is an extremely negative idea, because an ordinary person is an ordinary person that is not a legendary hero. Hence, all this mentally defective enemy “meat” and other consumables of the background, the only purpose of which is to show that the hero is not baldly sewing. There is nothing like this in this film - the heroes are heroes, incredibly strong, wise and brave. And that's very good.
Summing up. Do I recommend this movie? Definitely! Even if you are not a fan of such films, still watch - the film is worth it.
For this, let me recant.
Here is the Indian “masterpiece”. Yeah, well, I had the strength to watch this madness through. It's almost three hours, it's very hard. Of course, you may have a logical question: “Why did you watch this?” I was interested in the movie and the ratings. Well, did I regret watching? More like it than not. The film is a typical representative of Indian cinema, and all the attributes are there. And dancing for nothing and super-strong blows from which enemies fly to the side.
And of course, a little love story. And how protracted this riot... You won't believe it, but I've emptied the whole locker room. But if you are not very critical and under the mood to look at this film, it may even like. From some scenes, you can shout so loudly. And from the characters to beat just from the heart. Oh, and even, some of the musical numbers here are quite good and I liked it. The film itself is not fish, not meat. But it's fun, it's a little bit of fun. Well, it's worth a look at GGL Buffalo:
The Indian Lord of the Rings with the taste of 300 Spartans, dances and songs.
To Indian cinema, I treat very indifferently and without much attention, although at one time I watched several hundred films originally from Bollywood, and then came across Bahubali thought - and why not, and watched this film.
To be honest, I didn’t expect...
As I wrote in the title, the film is a mix of The Lord of the Rings, 300 Spartans, Alexander, Troy and even Gladiator. All this is mixed, fastened by typical Indian techniques - dances, songs, religion, twisted plot and unexpected turns. This all creates a really interesting picture, from which you do not want to break away and want to continue.
Let me tell you a little about the characters: the main, main characters are revealed very well and some very original ways that will not be noticed by everyone, but who will notice – will love them even more and will be more worried about them.
You can say something about caste, but this is an Indian film, they do not have bad actors - girls are beyond beauties, and men are incredibly courageous, strong and truly Heroes with a capital letter.
But, nevertheless, I will say about what I did not like much, not even what I would not like, but just caught the eye and caused a smile - this is computer graphics, which was periodically very bad and too much cut eyes.
Overall, the movie is great and I recommend it!
Scale and spectacle, for & nbsp; it's us & nbsp; and love movies.
I first saw a scene of a big battle that reminded me of Troy and decided to watch the whole movie. I’m not a fan of Indian cinema, I decided to do it. What can I say?
Of course, very large-scale and very colorful. They have always been colorful, but I have not seen such a scale. I have never seen such luxurious props: armor, city, terrain, clothes, weapons and guns. Contact scenes are no longer laughable as before, where the sound was ahead of the impact and everything was cuco and unnatural. This movie is different. The main characters look like strong people, they are really swollen, relief, courageous. The special effects are at a very decent level, the fighting tricks are filmed very well. Music, where without it, but here it does not strain, does not form another series, but weaves harmoniously into the plot and caresses the ear. Good job. Of course, it's Indian cinema and it's normal, it has its own recognizable face. French cinema can not be confused with Italian or American, each has its own national zest and it is great. The actors play professionally and there are no complaints against them. There are no stupid remorse, aspirations and snot in honey, everything is clear and natural. Of course, this is a fairy tale, a legend, an epic, it should be treated accordingly. With the set storyline, the creators coped brilliantly. The film goes long, but keeps in suspense, interest is not lost. Will I watch the sequel? I will.
It's an amazing movie, "Bahubali." About love, deceit, betrayal and courage, about vanity and compassion, about pride and mercy.
A Bollywood movie. An epic historical saga based on Indian legends about the great ruler of Bahubali.
Of course, many smirk at the Bollywood special effects that the film is full of, they are frighteningly unrealistic and naive. Computer graphics of the level of early Hollywood. But turn on your imagination, drop the nagging and you will immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the ancient kingdom of Mahishmati and perhaps feel India itself. Special praise deserves the musical accompaniment, sneaks up to goosebumps, permeates through.
We are waiting for the second part... in the summer of 2016.
Indian films are always colorful, beautiful, emotional. There is always a positive hero, his lover and some villain. Although recently made films in the Western style, but glad that this film remains true to its traditions of Indian productions.
The description of the film and the image of the hero immediately brought associations to the film “The Great Warrior” by the same director, so there was an anticipation of another excellent Teluga movie.
Pictures, songs, plot, actors – did not disappoint me. While much was foreseeable, it is nonetheless forgivable for Indian cinema, with its sometimes childish naivety. There was no parallel with The Great Warrior, which I feared a little, but I also wanted to plunge again into the fairy tale history of kingdoms and warrior princes, which happened.
But there was not enough romance. The love story here is not as revealed as I would like. From this, the Indian fervor of love somehow did not catch fire on the screen, nor did I find a response to my heart. Beautiful, but somehow small and fast. In contrast, a lot of blood and murder. Everything is taken as a given, as if it is not a story of love, king and warrior, but the story of the kingdom of Mahishmati.
I didn’t like that there was a direct reference to the Lord of the Rings during the battle. The feeling that the enemies are those notorious orcs: equally terrible, dirty, nasty savages against civilized people.
However, the film with its unfinished ending (again a reference to The Lord of the Rings) does not leave indifferent. The intrigue persists. The impression of the film is still good. When watching, you do not want to rewind the film, but completely immerse yourself in the atmosphere, in history and live there for 2.5 hours.
I was mentally prepared for this film. I decided to watch as an entertaining movie with special effects, without getting to the truth, if I do not understand how, why, why and what is the point? Or if computer graphics are far from realistic, so this attitude exceeded all my expectations.
I recently watched a romantic film with a beautiful picture, but I did not get such emotions from watching it, as here, although that film was not bad. It all comes down to a grand scale. Personally to me, if you do not digging, the film is at the highest level, insanely beautiful and interesting. Probably, if you know the legend thoroughly, then it is twice as interesting.
There was a moment when I, distracted, lost the storyline, but from this interest did not disappear, the dynamics of the film did not let me get bored. I would love to see this film in the cinema, a very worthy competitor. I can safely recommend this film to non-Hindoman friends and those who love Indian films. I am proud that India has made such a movie.
The only thing, since I'm still a girl, would like to end with more romance. I love beauty. I love everything beautiful on a large scale. Beautiful main characters, nature, architecture, plot. And although it cannot be said that war is a beautiful thing, even this meat grinder was shown to be interesting, showing ingenuity.
In Russia, Indian cinema is not considered sane films. Then the horse jumps over the truck or better, one person throws a gang of hooligans so that they start flying in the frame. So what am I talking about? Well, this movie is really smart.
Bahubali (Strong-Handed), once God gave power in his hands, but once he was betrayed and killed, but his child remained to whom the gift was transmitted. He did not live long, but something did not give him rest and he went to wander. That's the plot. Watching this film, I did not leave the feeling that I saw this and was right – “King of the Scorpions” about the same, but here the child seems to act as a kind of Hero who can do many things alone. And at first it all seems such nonsense, but then everything is explained to the viewer.
The songs in the film are melodic and beautiful, there are not many of them. Mostly at the beginning and towards the end. I liked them, and beat them in the form of a further developing plot of the film. This is where the creators worked.
There are no complaints about acting, played convincingly, well. Except that there are some moments, but they are not so striking.
But most importantly, the film has an atmosphere, a certain mystery.
I really liked the movie, I put 10, and I advise you to watch it, even those who saw the trailer and thought it was crazy. There are crazy movies (" Resident Evil 5, for example, etc.).
P.S. I hope in Russia for the premiere of the 2nd part of the film, still show it in theaters. Because the battle at the end is very epic!
