Justified for what he did. In the twilight of his career, the great Italian actor Alberto Sordi showed an interest in acute social topics, on the topic of the day. This time he spoke about the holes in the legislation and the influence of the media on the world order.
Retired Emilio Garrone travels to Italy and is actively using his former position as an employee of the SIAE copyright service. At the same time, he does not even have to pretend to be an acting inspector, since the owners of small radio stations are ready to do anything, as long as they are not asked uncomfortable questions.
So, knowing the “holes” in the current legislation, Garrone becomes the owner of numerous private television and radio stations, which destroys the same plans of a major media mogul. And this is just the beginning of the story. The further along, the more the pensioner Garrone will meddle, including in international politics, telling reporters that he is doing all this to please a certain Gilda.
Unfortunately, such films very quickly lose their main draw for viewers - relevance. Sordi plays the traditional role of a pleasant and sociable mature man for his late period of creativity, who manages everything easily and simply. He smiles and waltzes through life, wasting sweetness and light.
