The awkward beginning of the great Ichi! To be honest, I am a big fan of the manga “Ichie Killer”, so I could not pass up any attempt to film it! And for me personally, Ichie remained within the framework of the drawn character, because that Miike, that Tanno, could not convey all the genius of the original manga, as well as all the "tin" that was created in it. Since many different things have been said about the film adaptation of the same name Takashi Miike, we will talk about the backstory of the character shot Masato Tanno.
For starters, this film is an adaptation of the second part of the manga about a crying killer, which is about the school period of Shiroichi Hajima’s life, where he learned all the horrors of human cruelty from school bullies. But first of all, the plot revolves around the cool guy Day, a lover of punching everyone undesirable. Actually, all his battles like to see from afar our unfortunate hero Shiroichi. Of course, no one likes the tacit observation, so Day can’t wait to see how he can crack the face of an undecided killer! But the circumstances will bring all doubts out of the shadow of the heroes, forcing them to act at the limit, and this will begin, whoa... this will just begin... a terribly inconspicuous boredom will begin, from which you will be covered with an inflammation of hatred not only to the character of Ichi, which in fact is extremely small in the film, but also to every person involved in the creation of this film art.
At first, everything looks very interesting, even the main character Day causes sympathy, the antagonist Onizama obvious hatred and the desire to quickly die from the feet of Ichi, and Ichi himself, in general, Nao Omori plays him well, but he looks noticeably older than the original, but his crazy look makes him believe in his character that he is really not of this world! But looking a little further than the middle, you realize that it is no longer bearable to watch! Where's the blood? Where's the meat? Where is there anything that will make you watch this movie? The film is getting duller and duller every minute! Miike's film was far from perfect, and this one is even worse! So the question is, why are you doing monkey labor? In the manga, too, there were few scenes of Ichi’s reprisals against scoundrels, but they were colorful and simply unimaginably beautiful! All the dialogues between the characters, their actions were also not devoid of some zest, they were really interesting to read and consider because a simple logical chain was built at first glance, developing into something amazing, unexpected! The film in total that the one that this, exhibits only cardboard with beautiful faces, coupled with not always good acting, but with an excellent soundtrack and a sluggish plot!
In the end, I want to say that another attempt to put the Ichi Killer in the framework of the movie, at least for me was a disappointment! And all this is not because I resent the bad presentation of the original plot, but because the film was very sluggish, towards the end it already had to rewind, waiting for a significant ending, giving a hint of further career in the life of Ichi. Therefore, it remains to hope for another attempt to revive the manga Hideo Yamomoto on the big screen, and hope that everything will be as exciting as in the original, but in the meantime I will say thank you and put on this and the film.
