... and the cosmos of illusion. Um, I don't even know where to start. Better from afar. Why are short films made? Well, there are many options, I will give three main ones.
The first and most common. A group of people on bare enthusiasm decides to tell an interesting and not stupid story, which will make the average viewer look differently at a particular situation and think about what is happening in the world. As a rule, the duration of such films does not exceed the timing of ten minutes, the acting is quite average, but it does not play a special role because the idea is important. And if the idea looks quite original, then the studio bosses pay attention to a group of enthusiasts, give the latter a suitcase with money and say take it off.
The second option is much less common, but no less interesting. Again, a group of enthusiasts shoots a “short meter”, but does not put an idea into their work. They put rather a hint at this very idea, thereby creating intrigue. As a rule, in such short films, computer graphics are put in the first place and there is nothing surprising. After all, such a trick with the ears demonstrates all the same studio bosses that the guys not only have an interesting idea that could be developed, but also they can make a film that will look beautiful. That's just this kind of picture is much more difficult to do, and the chance that influential money bags will bypass your picture much higher, so this option looks interesting, but very risky.
And finally, the third option, which has become popular in recent years. So a group of enthusiasts who are devoid of imagination, sense of proportion and common sense decide to shoot something. As a rule, there is a person in this group who generates ideas, and his friends assure him that he is a genius and the poor fellow begins to believe that he is a genius. The only problem is that this very “idea generator” cannot clearly explain to others, what he invented. However, if one of the viewers / critics begins to pay attention to the torn storyline and the general lack of ideas of what is happening, then he will immediately be baptized as a fool who does not understand anything about the genius of the director. And today's guest is exactly the third option. So this is the Ocean of Storms.
* with interest studying the abstract of the picture* You know, it's really intriguing. Races with indistinct names that knock shit out of each other while trying not to catch people's eyes. But the trouble is, no one bothers to explain the origin of the ever-memorable "Taurons" and how they differ from ordinary people? Are they smarter than us? No, I don't think so. Can they survive a tank shot? I don't think so. They hide behind the guises of ordinary people, but in fact look so repulsive that one of their true appearance causes an all-consuming horror and heartbreak in the common people? And by again. Wouldn’t it be easier to say that there’s an organization that’s been tracking aliens for a long time? The director knows better? All right.
What about the Floridas? After all, these creatures must be alien to all living things and bring death and destruction, right? And the ever-memorable aliens sit for themselves and do not touch anyone. They do not kidnap people to carry out inhuman experiments. They don't destroy worlds. They do not even try to take the form of ordinary people in order to secretly control people. So could it be that the Floridas are the victims while the Taurons are the aggressors? Again, there is no answer.
All right, the plot's not worked out. It is better not to mention the schedule, after all, the film was shot by a group of enthusiasts, and where will such people take money, especially in Russia? Then there are actors. People for whom shooting in this picture should not be a job, but a pleasure. This is bad. Not even, not bad - disgusting! I never thought I’d say that, but in Asailum movies, the actors play better. Unemotional and expressionless faces, who pronounce memorized text that can be seen in this film. Well, if this is not enough for the viewer, then the screenwriters will put in the lips of the characters template and explaining nothing dialogues that bring down despondency and drive to sleep.
Summing up, I want to say that before the viewer there is a boring and primitive short film that tries to hide the absence of an idea with template phrases, wooden play of actors and antediluvian graphics. So I strongly advise you to bypass this “miracle of nature” side, thank you.
