popura Another Japanese film in which everyday life is in full swing. Three heroines work in different establishments: one mixes whiskey with ice and water in the bar, the other makes delicious coffee, the third makes delicious tofu.
There is also a young single father and baby Popura, his friend, who often walks with little Popura. A colorful old woman who loves to eat, drink and babysit. A guy comes into the bar regularly who fixes furniture. As a result, all the characters get acquainted with each other, and in many ways this happens thanks to the baby Popur.
The picture is pleasing to the eye and a whole team of wonderful actors: Ryo Kase ("I didn't do it anyway"), Mikako Ichikawa ("Cats for Rent"), Masako Motai, Satomi Kobayashi and Ken Mitsuishi are most remembered in the film "Sights" (which also starred Kase and Ichikawa).
There are philosophical reflections reflecting the Japanese worldview. Heroes constantly go to each other to drink coffee or whiskey, eat tofu and talk heart to heart.
Popura is unnecessary to his mother, but he charms all the characters and they take turns sitting and walking with him. This makes the film so warm and warm. But the last scene seems to leave a ghostly hope that after all returned for him. But who exactly is back, we will never know. . .
