Victims of fate I just watched the movie and the first thing that surprised me was the audience. Although, of course, it's everyone's business. Personally, I liked the film: both the acting and the main idea of the film. Very well shown the spirit of that time, the atmosphere through which we once passed. The ups and downs (of course, for the most part only the downs) alternated with each other at such a speed that I did not have time to look around. I remember people idling in long queues, queuing up at the store from six in the morning to get something, an acute shortage of food (just because they simply did not exist). Today, when you go to the store and see a product for every taste (who would have thought in the early 90s that you can buy a salad ready-made!), you think, how could the world change in just two decades!
Unfortunately, people have also changed. And the film is about that — about people in that very short and ambiguous era. Some of them she broke, the most enterprising managed to step over themselves and change their life principles, adjust to the needs of the era. Such a hero - Roots Okunev - a person without certain life principles and principles, moral rules, who flies with the wind that promises power and benefit. Quite different - the young heroine Olya Bogush. She always believed and knew human generosity and kindness, a little naive but sincere. That's how her parents raised her. The mother – who died defending the homeland “from internal enemies”, and the father who died, can not endure the mess of the early 90s, which tested people on moral foundations.
I will not discuss here what kind of era it was, and how fate tested its victims. Each of us knows this, but those who were lucky enough not to see that time – just watch the film – he certainly will not convey everything, but you will definitely feel the atmosphere of the era. Very good in emotional terms, the director came up with a move with a campaign banner that appears at the beginning and end of both series. Each time there is a different inscription on it, which characterizes a particular time period and the attitude towards it from ordinary people.
As for the acting, of course, I would like to mention the performance of Yulia Kadushkevich, who played the role of Oli Bogush. She was very well able, in my opinion, to convey the emotional experiences of her heroine, her persistent and unbroken character, no matter what trials her fate subjected. Only she could see in the Root something human, that part that was hidden deep in his soul so that even he did not notice it. They say that love will save the world. Dmitry Orlov’s performance was also impressive. To be honest, I’ve been disgusted with him since the beginning of the film. So I even regretted that Olya made the choice she made, because Roots did not deserve her in any way. The young school director Ilya Ilyich (played by Alexander Pavlov) became infinitely sorry - who approached Olga perfectly, ready to give everything for her happiness. I guess it's just not fate.
In general, the film turned out to be good, albeit for an amateur. It will be appreciated by those who are interested in the films of Dmitry Astrakhan (pictures "You have me alone", "Everything will be fine", "Waiting Hall", "Crossroads"). I can also recommend films: “Botanical Garden”, “I trust in you”.
The film was awarded a diploma "For the best television film" at the XI International Berdyansk Film Festival.
It was probably worth going through that era to appreciate what we have. You can't do that.
