Wherever you go, Whatever you do, I will be right here waiting for you… Whatever it takes, Or how my heart breaks, I will be right here waiting for you… © Richard Marx «Right Here Waiting» I once read an article about how an authoritative newspaper cited statistics on couples, not necessarily married couples, who faced incurable diseases in their lives, including sexually transmitted diseases. Studies have shown that in case of detection of such ailments in the fairer sex, their companions only in 15% of cases remain with them, while women make decisions to continue relationships with sick men in more than 80% of cases.
And I remember this information just after watching the 2013 Swiss film Chimeras. Let me tell you more about it.
Young and pretty couple of lovers Livia and Alex went on vacation in Romania. And everything would be fine, they are great together, the country is unusually beautiful, the sunrise is amazing, only one incident overshadowed the rest - Alex was hit by a car. It would seem that everything ended safely, he received medical care in time, received a blood transfusion, he went on the mend, but on arrival home he came across a newspaper that said about the very hospital where he was treated after the accident. The note said that in the clinic patients were transfused with contaminated blood.
From that moment, Alex began to see bloody hallucinations in the mirrors instead of his reflection, to experience unbearable pain from sunlight, and ordinary food ceased to satisfy him.
Further retelling of the plot will lead to inevitable spoilers, so I will break the main line on this, and now I will dwell in more detail on the personality of the heroine of this film.
Libya is just a model for women. Previously, the wives of the Decembrists who went into exile with their husbands served as examples of devotion, but times change, but the manifestations of female heroism are still striking. At first, Livia does not pay attention to Alex’s complaints about his metamorphosis, even gets angry with him, but then, as events unfold, she sees confirmation of his words. That is where the turning point occurs when Liva, realizing the whole situation, decides to support Alex in everything, and in all the necessary ways.
And now let me say a few words about the technical side of the picture. Filmed "Chimers" is far from perfect: a grainy picture, slightly twitching camera, but the impressions of the plot itself is not too spoiling. The actors coped with the task just fine, though we are talking about the main characters, because of the secondary nothing special and was not required. There are no special effects in the film, which is absolutely correct, they are absolutely not needed here, but makeup is made at the highest level, very high quality and believable. You can also note a few simply cool plans and angles that touched right for the living, and the latest frame of the film really impressed.
It is a pleasure to find such original paintings.
The creators deserved respect, and future viewers a pleasant viewing.
Thank you very much.
