Australian cop weekdays Detective Joe Cashin unravels a web of lies, corruption and betrayal in a small coastal town. It all begins with the murder of an elderly millionaire, whose name is mysteriously associated with a fire in a children's camp in 1983.
This movie reminds me of Scandinavian films. Landscape, character of heroes, slowness of narrative. Yes, exactly! Slowness. If you are looking for dynamics like, for example, in the series “Elementary”, then this is not here.
Actors
I can't pinpoint anyone. Of course, to the main character always increased attention. But personally, the actor did not remember anything special.
Plot
The plot itself is interesting. But nothing super special that can make the viewer stick to the screen. It's just an interesting story. There will be chases (smallness), and different versions, skeletons in closets and even a good twist (or addition) of the plot in two minutes (!) before the end of the tape. And also a romantic line, showing everyday life...
Unfortunately, the ending is unremarkable, in my opinion. You could think of something more interesting. No, of course, the case itself is important, but to make a whole film for such a scenario. I think the hourly version would be enough. You can remove a lot, the film would only win, having become dynamic.
For a long time I could not decide whether to bet 5 or 6 points. The last few minutes, however, have bought me something. Somehow the mood of the main character was transmitted a little through the screen. Hope for the best, that maybe the world has become at least a little, but cleaner.
