Start with yourself! I don’t know what to write, my impressions were ambivalent. I wouldn’t have lost anything if I hadn’t looked. On the other hand, (as I often say) in any Indian film there is something worth seeing, whether it is at least a couple of scenes, a cool song, beautiful shots, etc. and even if there are some new valuable thoughts, or an actor you like, it was worth it.
What's this movie about? At first glance, it's about cricket. But in the end, cricket is only a nominal bundle that unites three completely different stories in the film (which are not connected at all, and cricket will not help here). And without cricket, you could do fine, but the Indians are fans of it, so apparently for them it will be the primary attraction, attracting them to spend money on the ticket. I personally watched this film because it was part of unwatched films with John Abraham, and for the sake of Nana I adore.
1. The story of Nana and Danny. Nana is a surgeon, a walking image, who sees his purpose in helping people, and in order to help them more fully, you need to turn off all emotions, be cool and balanced. And here comes to the hospital a cheerful patient Danny Denzongpa, a former cricketer, a lifelong fan of this sport. In between attacks, he is cheerful and full of energy, which lights up everything around. Two life positions clash - Nana and Danny, a cold mind and a living emotion.
Nana burns, absolutely wooden doctor, who, as it turned out, has a soul.
2. Paresh's story. He and his family (wife and daughter) went to London. Works at the airport as a janitor (of course hides this fact from relatives and acquaintances), embodying the dream of his mother, tries to achieve something in life, and this life achievement should be expressed in the fact that he should at all costs get English citizenship. He feels second-rate in this white country because of the color of his skin, but at the same time oppresses his daughter, who is friends with a black boyfriend. Perhaps psychologically Paresh's line is the strongest in this film.
3. The story of Kunal Kapoor and Rimmy Sen. The most frivolous story. Married for love. and after the wedding, the husband paid more attention to the broadcasts of cricket than his wife, she felt lonely and abandoned, until the girlfriend advised her to watch cricket with her husband, but if she is not interested in the game itself, then you can pay attention to the players so she did. Will my husband like it?
For me personally, Kunal's ceiling is his role in The Color of Saffron. He has not yet been able to surpass himself. Kunal lovers are likely to be delighted with sexy songs, his nudity and all. Beautiful, of course, there is nothing to write here. Rimmy Sen - I think she looks beautiful (pleasant facial features plus Bengal chocolate in her skin), but something stopped her acting. You are married to someone.
The music is pleasant, composer Pritham. But the clips were all torn, smeared, not a single full. I looked up to the last John Abraham and in the final clip (this is where Nana in Rastaman beret) he lit up for a minute, for some reason in a t-shirt. Anyway, he was almost never there.
But the movie is nice.
