I don't know what in Mexico. I missed the whole 100 minutes of the movie. Just a wolf howling from boredom and from the thrust that was happening on the screen. After reading the annotation for the film, I was hoping to see an old-school action movie about revenge. In addition, there is a rather charismatic actor, he is a director-debutant, Luke Goss. But all the tricks that could decorate the film, namely the action scenes, were forgotten and the whole film we are watching... it is even difficult to describe why.
The character of Gossa for most of the film walks back and forth with a murdered muzzle, then takes out the cop who leads the case, then smears snot, communicating with Mexican relatives. To look at it all very dull and dreary, I expected much more from Goss. This is not even an action movie, as I expected at first, but some tedious thriller, shot in an incomprehensible way and annoying with almost every frame.
There was no Mexican backwater atmosphere. There were no exquisite bandos or any local traditional moments. The creators of the film focused on the story of the main character, forgetting about where the script takes place. It does not feel Mexico at all, and this is a fat minus.
The antagonist does not deserve praise either. His true motives are vague and I personally do not fully understand. What is clear is that his head is not all right. But I'm sorry, it's too simple. The bad guys do a good job in this kind of movie. But that's not the case here. The antagonist is a mediocre dude who doesn’t stand out, who makes all this game... and I don’t even know why. Terrible characters. Also, many unnecessary characters were included in the film, such as the stupid secretary. Well, or the cop the plot needed, but the actor is totally disgusting. Something reminds Tommy Lee Jones, only more terrible at times. Well, I don't even want to talk about Goss. After two sequels of Death Race, I expected him to continue acting in strong action films, but the level of films with his participation is incredibly falling, he chooses more and more slag projects.
I saw absolutely nothing good in the picture, and I put a fat two for the directorial debut. I do not advise anyone to look, for I do not wish anyone to experience the same torment as I experienced when watching.
