A film dedicated to Nizhny Novgorod The Day of All Lovers became an occasion for Nizhny Novgorod residents to confess their love not only to each other, but also to their native city - the long-awaited film "Nizhny Studio" was released!
The film began to shoot back in 2011. The idea was born out of a commercial for a mobile phone company: the hero of the plot found a long-time acquaintance many years later thanks to the phone number, which has not changed all this time. The video eventually never came out, and the company itself was gone, but most importantly - the director Evgeny Kudelnikov had a dream to make a film, the main character of which will be Nizhny Novgorod.
Do not expect complex plot moves or Hollywood special effects from this film, however, be sure – the atmosphere of this film will definitely create. The most beautiful views, architecture, sights, monuments, graffiti and artistic city ruins – in the film you will see everything. The painting by Evgeny Kudelnikov is the history of the last decades of the city, a time machine with which you can learn how Nizhny Novgorod changed and transformed.
The plot of Nizhny Studio is dedicated to the love story of a talented Nizhny Novgorod photographer and unfolds simultaneously in the present, past and future. Footage of the film, showing the not yet paved Bolshoy Pokrovskaya and multi-colored, with a large TV screen, the end of the house at the intersection with October, will melt the heart of anyone who lived in Nizhny Novgorod in the 90s. Special attention in the film is paid to ancient Nizhny Novgorod legends, hidden literally behind the veil of centuries. And those who dream of Nizhny Novgorod becoming a real metropolis, able to compete with New York or Tokyo, without losing their individuality, will surely enjoy the scenes of the future.
Eugene Kudelnikov:
': There aren’t many things that bring people together right now that don’t make sense. I didn’t think that would be the main meaning of the film, but now I realize that his main achievement is that he was able to unite a bunch of people around him. People who don’t know each other, but have one common goal: that the city has its own film. And to see a full room is especially nice. And even more pleasant – all the viewers sat up to the last frame of the credits. It's, I think, aerobatics. Because in the cinema, the audience is usually at the level of reflexes - as soon as the lights are turned on, you need to get up and leave. And here we were able to say and show everything.'
“Studio Nizhny” is a very simple story of the collision of the “Plushkinist” with the “progressive” reality, romanticism with pragmatism, an old memorable chair with a modern leather sofa.
I think that Zhenya himself did not fully realize how important the work for the city, for its residents and guests was done by the author and his team. You can see with what love this picture was created!
Separately, I would also like to note the beautifully selected music - all the soundtracks for the film were written by Nizhny Novgorod performers: Praline, Moonbeam, tairyfale, Von G.O.K., "Kuzkin children", "Chronop", "Colonel and fellow soldiers" and other groups.
Let's watch a movie together!
