Mega boar pork and mega-ham Duffy. The impression is that the destruction of the so-called American dream was mainly contributed by American animators. Paradox, isn't it? The process started from the inside out.
Take at least the cartoon “The Prize Pest” with the participation of the crazy spleen Duffy and the pig Porky, that is, literally, Pork. There are all the signs of American priorities, of which the thirst for profit comes first. It could be presented in a positive light, but instead the director shows us everything from the blackest side, and also gloating with the lips of Duffy, who tries to teach children something bad. Can this be interpreted in any other way? An uninvited guest enters the house of an innocent humanoid Pork, and arranges such a bazaar that at least hang yourself. And although in this short film there is sometimes something to laugh at, this laughter through tears: for what did this fall on us, the audience?
Instructions on death pranks - that's what most willingly promoted in American cartoons in the middle of the twentieth century. Use any means at your disposal to make your neighbor or even your best friend suffer, for Duffy and Svinin appear together for a reason and even show off their repulsive faces in the introduction. It turns out that they play roles within roles. I wonder how this was explained to the actors who voiced these nightmare characters. The series about Duffy, Swin, Bugs Bunny, as well as the ill-fated Tom and Jerry is an anti-example of animation, which is firmly in history, but, fortunately, is already forgotten. At least I want to believe that.
What can we say in the end? Pork and his no less pig-like friend once again proved to us by their negative behavior that humor and cruelty were not and will not be interrelated.
