For the Minister, for the Minister! The film attracted me by the fact that it starred the magnificent Pascal Petit, a beautiful brunette of French cinema, who, in my opinion, did not realize herself in it completely. In addition, the film “How to marry a Prime Minister?” features Jean-Claude Briali, a recognized master of the comedy (and not only) genre. The film’s director Michelle Boiron is best known for his films with Bridget Bardot “Strappy Girl”, “Dance with Me” and “Parisian”, in addition, together with other recognized masters participated in the filming of the film “French Woman and Love”. However, the greatest success of the maestro I consider the film “Weak Women”, in which he involved three beauties: Pascal Petit, Milin Demonjo and Jacqueline Sassar.
How to Marry a Prime Minister is based on a novel by Louise Maria Linares. The main character (Jean-Claude Briali) is a charming young man working in the prime minister’s office, a handsome and heartthrob. One of his fans, the wife of a very powerful man, sends him a passionate letter, which he loses in the theater. Marion, the girl who found him, asks for a "service" in exchange for the return of a compromising letter: to help avoid eviction from the apartment. At first, Lambert refuses, but love is evil.
- Do you really have the letter?
- Can you quote the beginning?
- Don't do that!
- It's disgusting...
- You have to understand, this is a socialite!
Light as champagne comedy of funny situations and witty dialogue. The scripted sequence of quite rational accidents turns the film into a perfect sitcom, where comedy and positions complement each other and are in constant symbiosis. I remember the face of the director of the department twitching, a plainclothes police agent very much like a police agent, and the plaster repairing the commissariat is as brazen as ours. But there are no episodes that are clearly intended to make you laugh. It's always annoying. The taste of the director has never changed.
This film, of course, does not reach the best samples, but it deserves attention, at least as an option if you want to watch some little-known French comedy. And of course, the cast of this film is very attractive. In addition to Pascal Petit and Jean-Claude Briali, the film starred famous artists of his time. Their names are forgotten, as is the film itself. Sorry! I would recommend watching.
