Since the Hollywood thrillers of the 90s, I have not watched films of this genre. And pictures of such subjects have never attracted much. But what can you do for your favorite actor?
A bit about the plot. The film touches on the topic of terrorism today. It depicts the secret organization Baby, whose main task is to prevent terrorist attacks in India, and also shows what it costs its agents to carry out operations without any external or internal assistance. Astonished: "If something goes wrong, Ajaya we don't know." You wonder if there are people like that who are willing to do anything for their country.
Cons. It's been going on long enough that I've only been able to watch it in two sets, despite the fact that the action on the screen is quite interesting. The first half is a bit drawn out and I think there’s a bit of a hang-up as the movie picks up, and it happens somewhere within the first hour. The story consists of many small episodes that skillfully fold, the action flows quite smoothly, although it develops slowly. But when it is already full speed, it is quite difficult to break away from the screen. In the last 40 minutes, the scenes changed so rapidly that I was impatiently biting my nails without even noticing it.
I have complaints about a few plot twists, there are obvious blunders in both content and implementation, but what movie does without it? And I didn’t like some cardboard characters, their “black and white coloring” – all the bad guys are very bad, all the characters are definitely positive.
Now the pros. The movie has everything I think a good spy thriller needs. Spectacular action scenes. Cool spy against bad guys. A good cop is a bad cop. There's no sense of sentiment or pathos. There are some funny scenes. And I also liked the funny duet of Akshay Kumar - Anupam Kher.
The actors. Akshay Kumar, in my opinion, is persuasive in this role, he lives the life of his character and adds thrill to his superb performance. I was constantly worried not only about the hero, but also about his family. Once again, I made sure that Akshay does not need hot beauties, songs, dances and melodrama to make a good film with his participation. I enjoyed it every minute of screen time. Oh, it's a pity the impression is spoiled by this thin mustache! Danny Denzongpa and Anupam Kher are such “monsters” that they could not help coping brilliantly with their roles. It's all natural. I was struck by Taapsi Panna - I did not like her before, and here even a little decorated with her presence the film.
The music in the film is only behind-the-scenes and this is probably correct for such a plot. There are no dances so typical of Indian cinema at all, and the action is breathtaking. This is an unusual film for Bollywood.
