Wind demons attack the city “Walking in the Wind” is the name of the film, based on its original title. Nothing is said about the cold at all. So, on what basis our Russian distributors come up with film titles remains a mystery.
In principle, this is another horror about the invasion of zombies, but not without its stylistic delights. In particular, I would like to praise the musical accompaniment, which organically fit into the gloomy picture of the film and gave it a certain drive. The exterior of the small provincial town also looked creepy. So, there are no complaints about visual effects.
The plot of the film begins with the return home of the protagonist, a soldier who returned from a secret mission, on which he received clear signs of post-traumatic disorder. He and his friends will have to face a strange virus or so-called demons that “walk in the wind,” according to local myth. It should be added that the ending of the film is quite predictable. These are the canons of the genre. But the general impression is still not spoiled.
From the actors, I would like to highlight the main character, performed by Zayn Holtz, who is known to most viewers for the series “From Dusk to Dawn”. In terms of emotionality, he played his role well. At least I didn't overdo it. I was particularly impressed by the scene of him fighting himself when he had to shoot his girlfriend. Another center actor Glen Powell (Scream Queen), also kept up and looked convincing.
As a result, it turned out, albeit not very original, but quite watchable, average horror film, which can be recommended to fans of zombies, vampires, and other evil spirits.
