Up and down. Observation from an unexpected angle. The three stories of this film merge into one filled with human misfortune, which “drives” into the desert, “calls” to Mars, or “forces” to live in the dungeons of Las Vegas. The heroes of this film do just that, running away from ordinary life to places where they will never be needed, thereby driving themselves into an even greater trap.
For the first half an hour I had the impression that each of them weaves outright nonsense, supporting it with no less absurd actions. Then the internal protest was smoothed by a touching narrative about their sad fate. But not quite. One had never had a father, the other had a wife who used drugs. Indeed, it is necessary because of this to retire in the deserts and endless garbage of Las Vegas.
Still, the film is beautiful. Unusual landscapes fascinate with their lonely splendor. And interesting here, first of all, the unusual approach of the director. Instead of the expected contrast in the title, you get an entirely sad picture, which tells you that people on Mars are also sad. Sorry for my sarcasm.
