“I spit on your graves.” Scandinavian version. A young employee of a large oil company falls into the clutches of maniacs. So could begin every N-th horror film, which is now stamped with enviable constancy. And so begins "We're monsters." There is something in this film that sets it apart from many others. Like the fact that he's Swedish. In my opinion, all Scandinavian films, especially the horror genre, stand out for their atmosphere and color. However, "We're Monsters" in this regard is no different from any American tortour-movie of medium lousy. I thought it was a pure and brazen parody of I Spit on Your Graves. It is a parody and, besides, cheap. Even the actress picked up well, very similar to Sarah Butler. Maybe the external similarity is very noticeable, but the acting leaves much to be desired. Hannah Oldenburg has not previously been noted in any film work, it is not possible to judge her acting skills in comparison, but speaking specifically about her in the framework of the reviewed film, you can see that the lady is very overplaying, thereby causing negativity. And not only to himself as an actress, but also to the character in particular. This Lady Revenge throughout the film manages to properly infuriate the viewer, so much so that at the very climax of the moment when justice is delivered, you do not feel absolutely any emotions for her character. In general, I did not think that in a review of such a film it is necessary to devote enough time to acting, because only two and a half people play in the film (well, you know who the half is). But, as it turned out, it was this factor that became the basis of bad cinema for me personally. The game of Ralph Beck and Thorbjorn Andersson after the lady and do not want to discuss, although they had a more serious problem, as it seemed to me.
The movie isn't interesting. It is clear that it is very difficult in the framework of such a movie to do something useful and not to turn away from a potential viewer, however, there are worthy examples. Same JAPNVM or Straw Dogs. At least these two films, not to mention the fact that if you think and dig deeper into your memories, you can give an example and a couple of low-budget worth films of this kind. “We are ugly” is nothing compared to the above. You can make a discount on the lack of budget, on the fact that this picture is, so to speak, a directorial debut, etc. You can, but you don't want to. If you can't, don't do it. What about the fact that the piggy bank of the horror movie has been replenished with another unnecessary raster about violence and, as a result, revenge?
If you expect tension, plot zig-progresses, or at least the sanity of what is happening, then I would not advise you to watch We Are Monsters. He won't live up to your expectations. Pay attention to the more worthy paintings of this genre. I make an assessment according to what I saw. If it weren't for a couple of things, there wouldn't be any evaluation.
