Inadequacy and incompleteness A very personal story. Now the era of fully commercial cinema, which as if shouts to the viewer from the screen “what do you like?”. And the viewer waxes and gets special effects, robots, naked breasts and ... it is desirable not to think too much. Now, movies like "Splinters of Dreams" are rare these days. The story is very personal, very frank, almost "stripper" (if I may say so) in terms of revealing the experiences of the hero and director. We know that they are one person, one person. And the movie "Splinters of Dreams" is a film about itself. And, of course, the viewer is interested in looking into the experiences of another person.
But here the merits of the picture end. Many dialogues seem tortured and precipitous. The acting game in places falls into a hasty reading of his remarks. This is understandable, because all participants in the project are very young and beginners. The exception is, perhaps, only Yaroslavl actor Vladimir Gusev, who played one of the episodic roles. It is fair to say that he is not a performer of the first category.
In the plans of the creators was to shoot a full-length film, but due to insufficient funding in the end still stood on a short meter. Did the painting lose out? I don't think. There would be even more slurred dialogue, perhaps adding a few passages to the entire narrative. As a result, the impression would rather deteriorate than improve. And so - everything looks quite easy and the time spent is not too sorry. I'm sorry, but not much. A little.
