Man cannot be free from the society in which he lives. After killing the rapist, the injured girl and her savior go on the run. Deep in the forest, they find a lost hut where they decide to build their paradise. Far away from those who hurt them and those who might hurt them. A place where they can just love and be loved. And happiness seemed so close.
Everything that happens next is a series of violence and murder, sometimes turning into frank ' thrash'.
The film echoes the real tragedy that occurred in the suburbs of Pskov, where teenagers in love ran away from everyone to the dacha with weapons, which they then found appropriate use. Interestingly, the film was released a few months before the sad event, but whether it was an ominous prophecy or an accidental coincidence, let others argue.
The vast majority of people, seeing this picture, will probably remain deeply perplexed. What was that? What was that for? Is it just to shock you? Or maybe it's just the result of modern psychotherapy of some mentally ill patient who visualizes the nightmares that plague him, not with brushes and paints, but with film and camera. Let us discard quick judgments and, with a decent dose of validol, try to immerse our cold eyes in the true nature of the violence of our heroes.
We'll come from afar. Remember people who have experienced situations of forced loneliness. Like Robinson. A man has lived alone on an island in the wild for 20 years, but still retains the habits he acquired at home. And even Friday, a representative of the local culture, does not contribute to the adaptation of Robinson to the environment. On the contrary, Robinson makes Friday a loyal queen. Robinson is trying in the middle of the ocean to recreate his little Britain with its advantages and disadvantages. Why? '...because we cannot be free from the society in which we live...' And even being away from society, you carry within yourself patterns and behaviors that are not easy to remove a person.
Returning to our heroes, who in their naive simplicity believed that the most terrible and bad things they left behind them, in front of them is the gate to paradise, and they themselves are white and fluffy, entirely woven of love and sunlight, one can understand how wrong they were about themselves. Their purest love in paradise, rather quickly gave way to such cute fun as hunting people, hostage-taking, love triangle, with sodomy included. And in the future, wherever they go, everything will repeat in a circle. It is only in society that one can always blame someone, and here there is no one to blame but oneself. By the way, our heroes, judging by the final scene, made some conclusions for themselves and decided not to return to the forest, but began to rob passing buses. Instead of looking for paradise, they went fishing. They realized that there are more urgent matters, and let other fools believe in heaven, and they have already been taught by bitter experience.
