Question: When will they stop producing such a product? Answer: Probably never, since soap operas have a huge audience of very simple and naive people who grab everything that is served to them - God forbid in the presence of such people you dare to talk about "taste", "immortal classics", and other, in their opinion, nonsense.
But that's bullshit, we're watching right here. I choose movies and TV shows carefully, so I rarely get to pass projects. Unfortunately, this time it was unlucky. You know, with others, maybe I would have mastered more than the pilot series, but after just watched “American Gothic” and still not ending “the Menagerie”, the limit of delirium is exhausted. I've had enough - a waste of time. Initially, I knew the plot was clichéd, but I was hoping for quality and some authenticity in the UK – but it’s the US manufacturing country, and that’s it. Americans have already started to shoot series in Europe, but still in their own way.
I will not specify my disappointment, because it makes no sense: a typical “soap” with all the cheap templates inherent in procedurals and equally talentless actors, and in addition, there is absolutely no prospect of the series suddenly becoming good. And even if the writers did store some interesting moves (I will say from experience that this is very unlikely), I would not wait for them. I just can’t imagine how enchanting the other 5 episodes have to be to convince me that this series deserves a positive assessment.
If someone does not have enough specifics, I will be a little more generous - the actors catastrophically lack charisma and non-standard actions, except that Billy Zane from the category “I have something to show you”, as some Odessans probably say, and only ... and the scene with the prince in Buckingham Palace and the return of things from the crime scene is just the height of stupidity and mediocrity of writers and actors.
