The next spin-off of the series "Soldiers" (this time about Major General Borodin - the former commander of the unit and division commander) was the last of the offshoots of the main plot of the army saga shot in 2007.
Being a supporting character in the "Soldiers", Pavel Terentyevich Borodin performed by Boris Shcherbakov (although it was on the "star" status of the actor that a bet was made when Shcherbakov stood first in the credits of the initial seasons) finally got the opportunity to open up to the viewer. But already in the status of a retired military.
In general, no matter how hard you try to point out that this is an offshoot, this series is least associated with “Soldiers”. If it were not for the name of the main character and the mention of his former colleague - ensign Shmatko, then it would generally be believed that I am watching some typical Russian detective series like "Precinct" with Bezrukov. First of all, this concerns the appearance of Borodin himself, whose mustache and scar on the cheekbone “disappeared”. Without them, he even looked younger. On the other hand, Shcherbakov became like himself (earlier at least some makeup was).
Having retired, the hero of Shcherbakov remained faithful to honor and duty. Especially when he realized that in his native village Vyazvoy there are various criminal cases, he did not stand aside, but gave the attackers a rebuff.
And although in addition to Borodin, there are still supporting actors, as such, there are no secondary storylines in the series. Except for the teenage orphans who began to live in the house of Borodin. Of all the most famous was only Maria Kozhevnikova (who at that time was just beginning to star in the series “Univer”). It seemed curious and the fact that the series starred Alexander Karpilovskiy (Kuzma) and his son Victor (Tolik). Perhaps the most recognizable to a wide range of viewers (besides Kozhevnikova) the actors of the series were Elena Valyushkin and Sergei Celin, who played a married couple - Borodin's relatives.
Almost every spin-off "Soldier" contains such a common blunder, as the same actor in different roles. But if Vladimir Fokin, who played the policeman Gulko, before that "lit up" only in the episode of season 7 "Soldier", then Evgeny Radchenko a year after filming in "Borodin" (where he had a considerable role of orphanage Serzhya) will play a recruit - Private Kovrigin in season 16.
As for the series itself, it was not particularly exciting. Only at the end I was interested in watching it, because I did not immediately guess who was behind all the atrocities in the village (although there will be plenty of candidates in the series). This is definitely a plus for the detective. Another thing is that the second time "Borodin". The return of the General" is unlikely to want to watch - too simple was the story with non-clinging characters.
