A chased animal This is the debut independent film directed by Noah Pritzker. The film is soulful and carries the genre of family tragicomedy. The picture turned out so warm and at the same time cold, real and true. Movies about family values and family fights are always important, because they carry with them something deep and important that happens every day in someone’s house. Such films are not for everyone, but they are soulful, and for those who feel the same.
Meet Clark. He is raised in a modern Jewish family. His mother always takes pills and throws things out of the ordinary, his father works all the time. When her mother is admitted to rehab, Clarke wants to run away from her family. He looks for ways out and looks like a chased animal. Having started a relationship with a girl, he like a leech adheres to her family.
When the main characters in the film are teenagers, they always reveal the themes of sex, alcohol, new sensations, self-knowledge and gradually discover the big world. So is this movie. Clark's character is a very remarkable boy. He is intelligent and understands a lot, but due to the lack of a family hearth, peace and harmony in his home, bad qualities awaken in him, and he begins to become a little confused. Uses strangers, hurts his closest people.
The main character experiences a large range of relationships with a variety of characters, and everywhere he is like a chameleon, very slippery behaves. In fact, he really needed his family, and after the split it is difficult to restore everything. I think this family movie is deeper than it seems at first glance. The film is not bad, but it is too melancholy, something else was missing.
The cast was average, but Ben Konigsberg as Clark was well remembered. A good, young, aspiring actor. From the actors in the background can be distinguished by the British actress Saffron Burroughs (scenes with which I wanted more and more) and the world of Sorvino , which is remembered most of all in this film. The story with the hero played by Kiran Culkin seemed to me unsettled.
“Lodyry” is an American, soulful tragicomedy of 2015 in the style of independent, family cinema. Once it is quite possible to appreciate this picture to fans of this genre, but for some reason I am sure that this film could be made much deeper and stronger, something middle and neutral turned out. Thank you.
