In trying to save my people, I destroyed an entire city. Rais. And all of this He is Shah Rukh Khan. Big and irresistible as always. And as always radiates incredible light and kindness.
Indian cinema has always been distinguished by kindness, simplicity, sincerity, naivety and a sharp distinction between good and evil. And that is why Indian films always attract the audience. Here very clearly combine scenes of tricks and fights with intersperses of humor. And all this gives monumentality well-chosen music.
Poor people in distant India have a very difficult time: education is difficult to get, you can not find a job, and pay, as a rule, little. In the same situation is the main character of this film. In one of the Indian states Gujarat lives a smart boy Rais, who from an early age was faced with injustice and inequality. Prohibition, necessary to maintain order, causes the emergence of illegal channels for the sale of alcohol. Rais understands how you can earn a lot of money and feed your mother. This work can hardly be called prestigious, but it brings a lot of income, and the guy gets respect and finds his place in this life. Years pass, and yesterday's boy becomes a big businessman. Rais was able to provide a decent life for his mother, find a beloved woman and become rich. Without hesitation, he began to expand his profitable business. I thought it would go on forever. But not so long ago, a new inspector came to the service of the police, who was not used to overstepping his own principles. The law has always been above everything. Of course, violators of the law will not like such a principled, too correct and reasonable police officer. It is this inspector who intends to capture and imprison Raisa, who hoped to get away with a banal fine. But, the principled inspector Majmudar does not take bribes and does not intend to make concessions. And in such a situation, what will a cunning and enterprising businessman who is not used to losing and giving up? . .
Yes, the movie is great. Shah Rukh had his eyes, beard and hair dyed and he became even more beautiful and younger. Great role, and it suits him very well. He wears a national costume. Songs from the movie are magical, you can hear them. I loved how thoroughly the character was revealed. The viewer is very clearly shown the principles and experiences of the main character. In the first place, Raisa has a business that brings money, without human casualties.
The film reminded me of the domestic TV series "Brigade", when for several years the hero had one main opponent. They had a real duel and it was interesting to see what else the policeman would come up with, who for a long time could not find control on Raisa. Family life and true male friendship with a childhood friend will also find its place in the film. In general, the film turned out to be a real quality find in the world of gangster cinema about the underground business. I like all lovers of criminal sagas who are tired of American and domestic similar products.
Fantastic music, fantastic performance. It’s so hard to get away with it. The film touches on many themes of the modern world. This is not an easy or easy topic.
The theme of corruption and lawlessness, created by the police and politicians, runs through the film. It's just like us.
The subject of decency. She's ambiguous in the film. Doing business on the weaknesses and diseases (and alcohol addiction, as well as any other addiction, is a disease) of people, can we talk about decency here? Probably not. But at the same time, business is conducted as honestly as possible. There is a certain responsibility for people in general, not just for employees.
The subject of betrayal.Rais. He seems to be smart and successful and solves problems well. He was a victim of circumstances. He was loyal to those with whom he worked and collaborated. This is terrible.
The path of criminal formation from the earliest childhood to the last moment is shown. The common people adored him for understanding the lives of ordinary people and, if necessary, they always came to the rescue. The criminal here appears to be an intelligent person and at first glance does not look like a lawbreaker, but life is such... life, and his crime is that he allows people to satisfy their passions, albeit illegally, but after all, demand always gives rise to supply. The psychological part of the drama is good and forces you to sympathize with the hero, understand his motivation.
And of course throughout the tape he is pursued by an incorruptible real policeman who is used to defending the honor and valor of the police in any circumstances. He is honest with himself and the profession he has chosen. The film, however, shows the reverse side of the law, where a person survives, how he knows and considers it right to pay the police (namely those policemen who gladly take bribes) for his illegal activities not to stop, and he himself not to be punished. It is also possible to note a beautiful love line and it was undoubtedly decorated by a friend and later both the wife and mother of the children Raisa!
I liked the film very much, this policeman is close to me in his life positions. It would seem that one person will not change anything, but it is possible. Be honest, fair, and enjoyable.
The actors coped perfectly with the task - the characters Shah Rukh Khan, Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddikui (I liked it incredibly, this is the first film in which I saw it and I hope not the last) Lively, emotional, with flaws and positive qualities. As for the elements of the action movie, I can say one thing - Bollywood chases and fight scenes have always cheered me up, since even the most terrible bloody scenes can not be viewed without a smile.
And again I am conquered by music, dance numbers, spicy color of the East, without which Indian films would be bland and caricatured.
It's not just a love story. This is a story about honor, friendship, betrayal, loyalty to yourself, selfless love for the people. A story that will make you smile, cry and think.
The ending of the film is impossible tragic and meaningless in its cruelty, mediocrity and stupidity of the police. When it is impossible to reconcile and cope with the mind, the mind is simply destroyed. The final scene and look... The Shah's view is nothing to compare. Tore the soul to pieces. Tears flowed down the face and it was impossible to contain the sobs. Shah Rukh is incomparable, as always. And of course weightless subtle Indian humor, so simple and understandable. Thank you so much to all the filmmakers!
