Not a very good sequel. So, a year after the masterpiece, in my opinion, the third part of “Equestria Girls” was released and the fourth part of the film franchise – “Legend of Everfree”. What immediately want to write after watching: this part was incredibly boring, and boring not because the plot was this time too banal – not without this, of course, the problem is primarily in the characters themselves. This time they turned out to be simply cardboard, their thoughts and actions on the one hand, too straightforward, on the other – completely logical. If in the previous parts there was at least some conflict, the characters somehow developed, because of something worried, then everything came down to the banal “I don’t want, I won’t” in the case of the magical power of Twilight, and “Oh, cool, this will help us build a pier” from the rest. Good jokes have disappeared - the cartoon has become not at all funny, although they are constantly trying to make us laugh.
The logic is also incomprehensible: at the beginning, we are told that Filsey Rich wants to take the camp for debts, Gloriossa, the head of the camp, does not want this, and then she finds mysterious crystals in the cave. What would any person in its place, who, moreover, by virtue of his duties, should be able to reduce debit with credit? Of course, he would try to monetize the find or use it to pay off the camp's debts. Instead, Gloriossa begins to intimidate those who have nothing to do with school children who have come to rest, and, of course, all this slides into some theater of the absurd with a completely ridiculous final battle. And then everything is allowed in the best traditions of Deus ex machina - the main characters immediately compose a song, arrange a charity evening and collect the necessary amount of money. And, one asks, why organize an hour-long plot consisting of absurdity on absurdity, when everything could be solved easily and simply?
Twilight, who in the third part sincerely empathizes, such a controversial and interesting character, has now turned into an unburdened schoolgirl. Where did her spirit of exploration go? Where did the internal contradictions go? As if she had changed her hairstyle. The rest of Mane 6, along with Sunset, turned into just a dancer - neither individuality nor characters.
The Flash was finally leaked. I understand that the fans didn’t like him, but “forget her. – Yeah, I’ll forget, let’s date you now,” this does not happen even in ladies’ novels.
All I’ve written about is the flaws of the writers. And the biggest drawback of the movie is the music. No interesting melody, even traditionally spectacular in all the cartoons of the series villainous song is boring here - the level has slipped to the very first "Equestria Girls". The only thing that does not claim drawing, but also that, with new clothes, shoes and hairstyles, the characters have lost some of their former charm.
