Anna Maria's not in the mood. An interesting film in which the story of a schoolgirl is intertwined with the fate of a young guy, a slacker and a parasite, changing it for the better.
It all begins with the fact that Anna Maria (a girl of 10 years) wants to win the long jump competition to earn the love of her father, who helps other people completely scored on his own family. In addition, she learns that her physical education teacher dishonestly acted with another teacher and told the headmaster about it (there I, by the way, was extremely struck by the unprofessionalism of this very director: the child trusted him and he not only did not solve the situation, but also set the child up). After that, the physical education teacher begins to find fault with our little heroine and she finds nothing better than to hire a thug who will beat the scoundrel and avenge the disgraced honor of the teacher and the destroyed dreams of Anna Maria herself. But who can the children find? Of course, not a real bandit, but a local lazy and a crook. Further, it is better to watch, because the different situations in which the failed avenger falls, as well as the nascent friendship between so different people, the great acting of the actors and the different stories happening with other characters are very interesting and make you think about a lot after watching.
All actors without exception play sincerely, I did not notice the slightest shadow of falsehood, I really immerse myself in what is happening and sincerely empathize with the characters, both main and secondary. The only one I didn’t like (as a character) was the girl’s father. I could not even imagine such a mean, ugly act. I was shaking with anger at him and pity for the child who had been treated like this. I wanted him to get the full karma! But the film is kind, childish and cute, so we didn’t see anything terrible. Most of the bad deeds were left behind and we were just hinted at, there was no violence/blood/debauchery on the screen, there was only one-on-one fight between a physical education teacher and a defender of the bad and oppressed, that is, Giresh, who penetrated and changed. There are also no dances and songs (only a cheerful composition under the joint fools of the characters to show their friendship), there is also no love line (the main thing here is not this, but relations between people). It seemed that the creators of the film in each tried to find something bright and kind, many do what was not expected of them. It’s revealing the characters, their non-standard actions and hooked me the most. For example, the character of Siddiq, who seemed the whole film a kind of gentleman, not far-fetched and incomprehensible how he earned such money, suddenly tells a story about his family and gives truly wise advice.
But the main charm of the film is, of course, the unique atmosphere of Malayalam cinema (which is very different from Telugu-Tamil or Hindi films) and the charm of the actors in the main roles: Sunny Wayne (saw it before and watched the film specifically for him) and Sarah Arjun (she saw it for the first time, a very organic girl, well-better than many adult actresses). Dulkar Salman (if someone is going to watch for him) appears 2 times for a total of 5 minutes. The role is important in the plot, but modest in the game, since there is nothing to play there, although, of course, Dulkar was as charismatic and smiling as possible.
