I'll focus on the 'figure' that accompanied Molly. Walked with her. His voluntary muscles (i.e., his visible motor muscles) worked for a long time. In addition, in “test” situations, it was found that his brain is still able to acquire, store and retrieve information.
This is not as fantastic as stated in the film genre. Where did the phenomenon of “subject” brain activity come from? That’s what the movie is about.
I will give you professionally literate language. Nobel laureate physiologist John Carew Eccles stated at a UNESCO meeting in 1984 that the brain is the receptor by which the soul perceives the world. He said, “Soul, not consciousness.”
A world-renowned neurophysiologist, Natalia Bekhtereva, the scientific director of the Institute of the Human Brain of the Russian Academy of Sciences, considered the brain a separate organism. Moreover, she considered the brain a living organism. I definitely insisted that “consciousness” and “soul” are not the same thing.
Natalia Petrovna Bekhtereva emphasized that Consciousness is not just a product of the brain, but a living brain.
Bekhtereva continued her thought as follows: “The soul is an integrative concept, complex, affecting the limbic system, and therefore emotions.”
The limbic system is there — deeper into the brain, where the inside of the big hemispheres is.
The limbic system, which is also responsible for controlling the electrical activity of the brain, in this representative, who joined a 30-mile summer marathon across the Mojave desert, remained intact. A friend of Molly, fortunately, could not hurt this "applicant" his violent head.
The defendant stubbornly did not want to die. My brain didn't want to die. And Molly kept giving him a "super-task" for his brain. She talked to him a lot. Molly put him in the harness. The intense mental work of his brain activated neurons, formed new biochemical connections. And if new connections - then new neurons, new nerve cells.
The film was interested in realism. And "fiction" for me personally ended up in the Magic of the Brain.
Call. The insertion because of the keys to the convertible is an unnecessary, unnecessary waste of the heroine’s forces, and the last frame with the “neighbors” is too much, she can not do at all, it is in a virtual orbit. Because of these two absurdities:
Seriously, ignore or tolerate the first 17 minutes of a drawn-out and rough start, and then make sure you watch the movie after that point because that's when it gets better. In general, this is a pretty decent movie even for a sophisticated fan of zombie movies: with a complete story and excellent character development. It is suitable for anyone who is looking for a fresh look at the “living dead” and black humor. Despite the illogical actions of the heroine, there are intriguing, tense and creepy moments. Overcoming dangers, Molly is constantly growing personally and towards the end of her journey becomes a great character, although at first she was not particularly cute or smart. The idea of having a lonely zombie beside you is unusual in a zombie movie. The forced companion wasn't a super-zombie or zombie with any special abilities, an unusual situation where Molly couldn't do anything for much of the movie other than just walk in front.
As for getting to know zombies on a personal level, in this respect, the film is far from the charisma of Warm Our Bodies, but there is some romance in it. Also here are constantly pleasing to the eye wonderful views of the main place of action - the desert.
I recommend that every zombie lover see this movie at some point in their lives.
I liked the movie. I really liked it. And yes, I wrote many times in the framework of this site that unpresentable at first glance, the film was able to quite surprise in a pleasant way. This is what happened this time.
The description of the tape, of course, has a false cliche and therefore I did not feel much interest, especially in the opening credits of the film. However, its further development, especially those vicissitudes in which the main character falls, make the viewer understand and even empathize with her. In fact, Molly’s path through the desert to the rescue airfield is also a kind of attempt to escape from herself, because flashbacks in her memory indicate a path of extinction, from a happy mother to a dancer-addict. And the troublesome zombie that seeps behind her, from the initial threat as the plot develops, appears before us almost as a silent listener and even in something more.
The picture, in addition to high-quality acting and camera work, also boasts strong dramatic scenes and a good sound component. Director of the acclaimed Grave Seekers Colin Minihan also deserves special praise.

We all run from something, someone on a treadmill, and someone on a white one.
I have long had an eye on this film, but decided to include it only three years after the release, and then, as a not very popular zombie arthouse, which should not have taken me away from the pressing issues. As a result, the eye was riveted to the screen for an hour and a half thanks to the original and well-thought-out plot, and, most importantly, the theme of self-destruction and repentance, which is close to me personally.
As critics have already written, the story begins with the fact that a frivolous lady and her no less frostbitten dumb boyfriend rush along the highway through the South American desert, fleeing from the zombie apocalypse that began in the metropolis. Their goal is a small airfield in the wilderness, from where, thanks to the same dull comrades of the guy of the main character, the cornman must take them to beautiful Mexico, where everyone will heal happily, although, given their lifestyle, it is unlikely for long.
The optimal, it would seem, set for zombie horror about representatives of this layer, where you expect a crowd of living dead, half-naked women and pumped men with a bunch of guns. But the situation in this case is much more prosaic. The car gets stuck and a couple catches up with one unfortunate zombie, who, despite the fact that the guys have a gun, safely beats the only male character, after which the lady rushes into the desert in leopard leggings, leather corset and striptease shoes. Taking with him, of course, vodka, cigarettes, substances, and water in large quantities, which is already quite respected. Its goal is the same airfield, which is 40 miles away.
In order not to copy the description of how the heroine is pursued by zombies, and what ultimately happens to her, I think we should start by deciphering allegories. The heroine clearly runs away from her past, for which she is terribly ashamed, this is evidenced by numerous and intelligible flashbacks. The image of zombies for this past is obviously not accidental - the heroine is afraid of him, does not want to think about him, treats him aggressively and with rejection, continuing to strive for the airfield, which probably symbolizes the final departure from moral principles to complete chaos of the individual.
Gradually, passing through many thorns and inner work on herself, meeting even worse people on the way, in conditions of desert drought and complete loneliness, she begins to understand that the things that she has left in life are much more precious and true to her than what she so unrestrainedly strives for.
As I wrote earlier, the story is flawless. The ending is predictable, but that doesn’t make the movie any worse. The acting of the heroine Brittany Allen is not in doubt, there may be some situational jambs, but all of them can be forgiven for the fact that the film genre definitely has the right to be called including arthouse.
It is difficult to say who will fit this tape, it raises axiological issues, as well as the issue of motherhood. I remove one point for the fact that a couple of heroes could be added to a full pile, with the disclosure of their characters and a slightly more detailed history of the epidemic itself, but this is already nitpicking.

The film is given a plus for the original idea. If you are tired of all these standard movies about crowds of zombies, then you will breathe a breath of fresh air. I don’t watch anything other than zombie movies all day. And of course I'm so tired of these hordes of creepy zombies! Give me that sip. And here's the gulp: we only have one zombie in the main story. He moves slowly, but as always persistently and purposefully. He's stalking a girl. This is not the girl you want to spend your whole life with. Suitable as a litter for a gangster who can not get into a zombie with 5 steps. Drug addict and alcoholic. That's the main character. Which is definitely a plus. So his attitude to what is happening and negotiations with zombies, there is the best part of the film, because it is here that humor, disposing to view. As for the whole idea. So it's just a confrontation between one character and another, only here as a kind of zombie antagonist. A prime example is "My Enemy." But the topic is not rare, there does not necessarily have to be some monster. Beauty and monster, there may be quite ordinary people who are in the initial conditions enemies, but because they are isolated from the outside world, they eventually converge. Mechanics: Abductor and Abductee – Stockholm Syndrome This technique works here too.
Until some point it is very pleasant to watch, but closer to the final to watch it is impossible because of the poor implementation of the main idea.
The film had two ways either to please me for a hundred, or to follow the path that the hero must necessarily change. All those points that are in the film could be fun and fervently maintaining the pace and atmosphere of the film, if the creators did not decide to suffer from drama. Not that it's bad in general. Changing the character under the influence of some events of the film is that straight, what you really need to strive for in terms of building a dramatic work. But here's a cool character. I don't want her to change. I want her to do drugs, drink water and do crazy things, which is what happened in the movie, except if she was on drugs, it would be justified. And so it is unreasonable and turned into a snotty miserable spectacle, from which you want to puke and shout “AAA?!!” .
A vulgar-looking girl and her boyfriend race in a sports car on a highway in the middle of the desert. Molly and Nick managed to get out of the big city in time, where an epidemic is rampant, turning people into bloodthirsty zombies. The ultimate goal of the proposed route is a small airport, where friends and their plane are waiting for them. But here’s the bad luck: the car suddenly gets stuck in the sand on the roadside, and meanwhile, a creepy-looking walking dead man appears on the horizon. How to survive in the desert, if you have only vodka, cocaine and a gun that you can not shoot?
The film should definitely appeal to people tired of clichéd zombie-movies, where the characters roll crowds of dead from a large-caliber pistol from a hundred meters while shooting from the hip. This is the most honest way to show a world in which even one infected person can lead to death. Circumstances are literally “heated” by the desert, in which it is quite difficult to survive without a minimum set for survival even without the fall of human civilization against the background. Nicknamed “Crumb” zombie tirelessly follows Molly on his heels, beautifully symbolizing the inexorable death breathing in his back.
"This makes the sand red" is a lavishly flavored black humor drama that has a pair of aces up its sleeve in the form of an intriguing interaction with the "stalker" and a pair of sudden twists. It is worth noting that the main character is not a static character, because throughout the action she has a specific revaluation of life values. Excellent acting, picturesque surroundings and general suspense help a low-budget project to be a worthy and fascinating spectacle. The creators do not invent the wheel – rethinking the genre as such does not happen, but they still manage to insert their “word”.
It Stains the Sands Red – Destroys the Zombie Movies Are you used to the many hordes of the dead? Here's a zombie Movie with almost one dead man. Are you used to the “zombie threat” concept? It's revised, too. This is only part of the original film.
The movie is a road movie with the participation of a girl and a single zombie pursuing her. The action takes place in a sultry desert. An annoying zombie is very annoying to a poor girl who, in addition, constantly resorts to stimulants in the form of alcohol and drugs. Under the pressure of the above circumstances, a constantly tense atmosphere develops. Beautiful desert landscapes and a well-suited soundtrack capture the viewer’s attention. The difficult situation in which the main character fell, turns her thoughts to the most intimate. Throughout its difficult path, its character undergoes development, which is interesting to observe.
It Stains the Sands Red presents a modern vision of zombie thrillers. Modern - involves not only high-quality technical performance, but also allusions to some fashionable phenomena. The film definitely deserves attention.
Before the opening in the genre, this film does not reach, even in the short time of the picture, the authors did not find weighty arguments to conquer the viewer. All that the creators were honored with is to sculpt a dozen funny episodes, and unfold not the most unfortunate drama of the relationship between man and zombies.
But we have already seen all this before, and we have never found any highlights that I expected to see in this project. The girl is racing with her friend towards the airport, where they are to meet friends, the car is stuck at the curb in the sand, and the friend is, to put it mildly, a bad shooter. And now the main character will have to experience thirst, hunger, withdrawal due to the lack of drugs, and at the same time not to get caught by a rather persistent zombie.
The latter, by the way, is not a vegetable and a clown, although most of the screen time he is doing this, closer to the end of our main zombie, without saying a word, becomes some more understandable to the viewer, and ceases to be an accessory of the main character of this film, probably, and makes this film at least suitable for viewing.
However, those who are waiting for some classic zombie apocalypse are still waiting for disappointment, there are practically no twists, the atmosphere is not realized with all its possibilities, the only one where "From this sand becomes red" succeeds is in the dramatic part. I recommend watching only if you are a devoted fan of the genre and do not miss such independent works, for the wider public - it is most likely worth skipping.

Camera Road Movie with TP-exploitation develops into a kind of epochal saga about the "throwaway", saving his child from the captivity of the Cadavrs.
Stuck during a zombie apocalypse in a car in Nevada fifty-plus miles from the airport, Molly will have to walk the rest of the way through the hot desert. Her companion will be a dead man in a suit from Quentin Tarantino. Will she have enough vodka, courage, cocaine and ingenuity to navigate this extremely dangerous route to catch a life-saving flight to Mexico? . .
“It turns the sand red” is the case when size matters. And it's not just the name. And not that the main character calls our "walker" Smalls (Short Man) Whether it’s a short meter (with the mandatory relief of unfunny gags in the spirit of “kamedivuman” and an optional finale) – on our “blue screens” could light up almost a masterpiece! Unfortunately, the creative group decided to make a full-length film, and a good, unconventional idea with a fresh look at the relationship between people and zombies could not outweigh the overall drag and chaotic final part of the picture.
The impression that filmmaking was being watched by a strong female hand is definitely a feminist overtones. However, the director and screenwriters were men named Colin Minihan and Stuart Ortiz. Those same "Vicious Brothers", which gave us a pretty pretty and rather boring work: "Grave Seekers" and "Aliens". The fact that among the entire male team was the only woman, the performer of the role of Molly Brittany Allen, and she also became an executive producer (responsible for financial, administrative and creative aspects), otherwise you can not call it a coincidence.
After watching two-thirds of the film, you realize that this is the pattern of behavior of the ideal man on the mountain given to us (of course, ironically) by these “feminists”: “Looking into the eyes, listening attentively; helping to carry a purse, relentlessly following; not shying away from used tampons, silently bearing insults.”
In addition to chic views, juicy pictures and worthy acting work in this tape there is one extremely interesting and witty idea presented. Just a godsend for the “green” and other opponents of the destruction of zombies: they should only be slowed down!
