It is based on interviews of different people, and if it is not an interview, then the shooting is made à la paparazzi from bushes or from around the corner by a shaking camera. Is it the director’s fetish – not to shoot like a regular movie?
The idea of making robots is good. But in reality, this is probably not possible. The brain can be supported in this way for a while, but I think it’s too much to “consider.” But this idea, in my opinion, was not well developed in the film.
At one point, the laws of physics are cruelly violated, which even schoolchildren know. Is there a need for that story right now? I think the planet is fine.
Lots of complicated explanations. I honestly don’t understand what happened in the movie. These ideas would be better developed, otherwise some blanks of good ideas turned out. We gave people a couple of ideas, some clever phrases, some understatement, and we thought it would work. I’ve done a great job with special effects.
The most important thing is that if you (your professional activity) have at least some relation to the natural sciences, then before watching it, just accept that the film was probably made by the humanities. In my opinion, there is no science in the film.
The main idea of the authors is close to me. Yes, we do not want to constantly look for signs of aggression and danger in everything strange and incomprehensible. On the other hand, there is biology and evolutionary theory, which just says that the cautious survive.
The ending is unusual. Yeah. The two planets are close together and have no influence on each other. At first, when this was said, I thought that others had created a planet in opposition to the current Earth. The same is hardly a stable system, but at least some sense from the point of view of physics. In the film, they almost touch the atmosphere. . .
The pseudo-documentary photos were made so clumsy that I myself made photomontage better in my youth.
Everything could be forgiven for a good idea and its implementation. But here the idea is not worked out and the embodiment is terrible.
Pseudo-documentalism implies a very thorough study of the material. Just because otherwise the movie won't shoot. The law of this genre is the absence of obvious blunders and inaccuracies.
In this respect, the series Mars is an example of qualitative pseudo-documentary.
And there are flaws, but they are not so obvious.
Verdict: unscientific low-quality slightly pathetic video about nothing.
Swing on the ruble, hit on the penny. It's too late.
Mixed feelings. It is difficult to give a brief and complete assessment of this film.
I'll start with the pluses.
Surely an interesting idea. Although, in my opinion, this is nothing more than an attempt to copy the idea of the film Arrival, released a year earlier. The image of the Aliens (let’s call them that, temporarily forgetting about Giger’s masterpiece) is presented in a very interesting and ideologically correct way: they may turn out to be unlike anything we can imagine. Both in terms of appearance and in terms of motives of behavior.
The visualization refers to Tarkovsky’s Solaris.
There is no doubt an attempt to show something more than is understandable by modern people.
The presentation in the form of pseudo-documentary is undoubtedly an interesting move. This is not exceptional, but quite rare.
The sound is not bad at all.
...
Yeah, that's probably all.
And then there were the downsides.
The style of the film greatly reduces the acting. If anyone wants to enjoy this aspect of creativity, it is not here.
It's a messy story. The logic of the behavior of aliens can be arbitrary: we cannot judge what is their analogue of our morality.
But the logic of human behavior must somehow resemble the real. I couldn't see it here.
Physics ...
It would not be superfluous for the cinema to enter the tag "physics_go away". Now, physics didn't come here. I’m not talking about an educated adult. But even a high school student who has at least some understanding of physics will be discouraged when watching this film.
There is also an attempt at science.
The directors of the film seem to have assembled the entire crew and brainstormed: ‘Name all the science words you can remember.’ And everyone said they knew. From makeup to sound engineer. These words were collected and randomly compiled into replicas of “scientists”, who on serious occasions under the dramatic musical background this was broadcast in pseudo-documentary.
Total: for 2017, a weak video sequence, there is no at least some sense of the plot, a failed attempt was made to give the film scientology, weak acting.
And for me personally, a broken forehead from permanent facepalms:
A tedious film in pseudo-documentary. There is not only a lack of budget, but also ambition. Peace-loving aliens, the creation of man-two, the study of a mysterious phenomenon, sociopathy. This is the spectrum that this creation has tried to raise. But any of these directions deserves a full story. Bottom line: everything has failed, and as a result we have had a murky, completely unscientific nonsense that denies the laws of mechanics, physics, biology, astrophysics and sociology. Well, well, to hell with these laws, not for the first time, however... but it would have rolled if the film had a related action, alas, this thrust of the pseudo-doc did not even lie nearby.
The question is: Who is the film made for?
And a natural answer appears: - For an illiterate undemanding viewer from a religious sect of lovers of the "society of equal opportunities" with a complete lack of critical perception of information.
The film is intended for fans of science (or so) fiction with the desire to convey some bright ideas and bright hopes of people who want to make this world better!
The title of the film in Russian translation ' Beyond the redistributions of the universe' slightly does not correspond to the original ' (literally, Extraordinary!). The film is not about events at the edge of the universe, but about events on earth related to phenomena that can not be explained by modern science.
The film is shot in the style of a certain journal of events of a space agency.
An interesting approach to the idea of alien intelligence and the idea of brain transplantation. (I’m not going to spoil it for you.) )
The beginning of the film really seems a little boring (until you understand the idea and plot), but over time you realize that it fully fits into the concept of the film.
Then the action begins to grow more active and more difficult to develop.
The denouement will surprise many, especially people who like to predict it in advance.
I will add that I have not seen anything like this in a long time.
(A film about the desire of people not just to consume, but to try to achieve something more!)
The film is great, I recommend to watch, especially thinking people.
P.S. Do not look at the rating (it was made by fans of soap blockbusters!).
For trying to say something with your creature. Tried, tried, but never tried.
In this film, a bright idea appears in the last third of the film, as unexpectedly and sharply as possible, because the previous parts of the film did not lead us to this idea, either directly or even indirectly - on the idea of the opposite - ' Shoot at everything that is unfamiliar and inexplicable' And then we see the absolute ignorance of the authors of science fiction, where this approach from the opposite, with a 180-degree plot twist worked out to shine by multiple versatile variations. What is it instead? Video in pseudo-scientific style, similar to documentary from science-pop channels (and there it is a pseudo-scientific style, and pseudo-by pseudo-, this is too much), ' live & #39; camera - depicting ' real & #39; shooting. And this whole set of techniques shows us secondary scenes that are not necessary for the plot, so that they can be safely thrown away without losing meaning. Yes, and the pseudo-scientific-popularity itself could be played, shown, much more interesting and within the framework of art, as Lioznova did in ' They conquer the sky'.
What could it be instead? Character arc or just a manifestation of the personal qualities of the heroine, which served as the basis for understanding with IPomi, personal preparation - pumping to extreme situations and unexpected ' failure' in expectations, and a lot more, and not suddenly arose - You are good.
Lack of explanation - reference, to the idea of the film, the absence of any suspense, for ignorance of sources and arrogant - disregard for them, for the efforts made and time wasted by the viewer, to convey the idea shot in the film - enough status on Facebook, deserved assessment:
2 out of 10
A lofty but primitive idea. Masking low-quality graphics "floating" camera focus ostensibly justified pseudo-documentary style - wildly annoying. Thank you to the director and cameraman. The only thing they didn’t manage to ruin was the actors.
In this film there are no fights with aliens or valiant heroes who alone destroy spaceships. There are heroes here who show us what sanity, perfection, sacrifice for a great purpose, and faith in a bright future are.
The main scheme of this film is a different view of the alien invasion in detail touching on scientific topics such as space-time, astronomy and a bit of quantum mechanics (at the level at which it is studied at the moment) and all in the style of mocumentary. To many, this film seems tedious and boring, most likely, that is why such a low rating. But I will say for sure - if you are interested in such topics, then you will definitely like the film!
An important fact is also the behavior of scientists in this film - everything is set so that no one tries to throw the blame for their mistakes on another or hide some facts. Everything looks as if all these ugly qualities were removed from people, and only the desire to create was left. Because of this, personally, I have only increased interest in this film.
Conclusion. The film is very interesting, inspiring, making you think and look at the world in a different way. It is a pity, but such films are unlikely to be popular. . .
Ignore the low rating. The film is more than anything else!
An unusually harmonious, soft and mesmerizing film, allowing the viewer to look at himself from a completely different side - hidden kindness. The authors of the idea give in advance a huge portion of faith in the best that is in man.
The film to a large extent (as far as I can judge, being an amateur in this matter) is approximate in science fiction, has a pleasant balance between documentary and fiction.
