Who let the dogs out? I decided to step away from the chosen course of reviews of low-budget horror films and watch the fresh under the name Pup Star. When I saw how many movies Disney was doing with talking dogs, I was fascinated. Does the audience consume it all? I love movies about dogs myself, remember the classic Beethoven, finally. But when dogs turn into mimish animals with bows, and even begin to talk – this is the finish line.
So, before us is a children's entertaining feature film with talking dogs Robert Vince "Star Puppy". Hell, even the name here is a seduction for kids running around the DVD department. I am 100% sure that the film has paid off and the next one has already been put on the assembly line. (Listen, seriously, I just checked - the movie will actually have a second part.)
The plot is interesting in the most can not – there is a competition like American Idol, only Pup Star. And there are puppies performing. Whoever sings best, wins. The dog jury even sits down to evaluate. And then a girl comes there with her dog with the awesome name Baby, so that Baby tears up the audience. She is in the final, so she has to prepare. But horror! One day before the finale, an evil cat angered Baby, she chased him, and the girl chased Baby! In short, do not ask how, but an unexpected thing happened - a girl in the hospital, and Baby in general in some homeless shelter! And the exciting adventures of Baby begin, because she needs to get to the competition and win.
Hell, that's a kid's movie, you can't tell. I thought the dogs in the movie would only be understood by their owners (like Stewie and Brian, only in the opposite direction), but the dogs are as smart as humans! They talk to them on an equal footing, arrange their contests and all that. The brain explosion from Disney, the lack of logic is also somewhere nearby.
But I was showing off. Of course, there is a certain audience that will like the film. That's what he did for them. I'm talking, of course, about children. In principle, for children, Star Puppy is not the worst and most degraded product. They will find little useful there, there is no morality in the film either, but I did not notice any particularly bad things there. If we talk about Disney products, cartoons with Donald Duck, of course, a hundred million times better. But I don't think little kids won't like this movie. I would show it to kids under 10, probably. After 10, this is unlikely to be interesting. I don't know, everyone's different. I'm 21, I was bored watching after 30-40 minutes.
Thank you for listening.
