Forgiveness is understanding. Divorce parents are always a huge trauma for the child, sometimes such wounds do not heal. In fact, this film shows several encounters between a father and an adult son over the years. They have not lived together for a long time, their parents have divorced, their father now lives in Moscow, and their son comes to visit him from time to time, and mostly wanders around the country in search of himself, decided to become a writer.
The heroes of this chamber, lyrical film were lucky. The adult son was lucky - under the guise of an ever-grumbling and even in places rude bati (frighteningly realistic Peter Shcherbakov) a vulnerable, in his own way delicate, worried for him person was hiding. The father was lucky - the son is generally a good guy, forgiven the divorce and wants to be friends, besides financially independent. The culmination of the development of their relationship is a scene at the father's birthday, when he gives his son due at all, protecting him from a shamelessly dispersed guest.
“Dialogue with continuation” is a very personal statement by the screenwriter “Alexander Lapshin”, he himself directed and performed the main role, and played well restrained, without excesses. In the small role of the independent and mysterious wife of the son, the beautiful Marianne Vertinskaya appears.
The film was shot on halftones in a romantic way, with cute music. It is remembered by a discreet sincere intonation. To rise above the offenses, to try not to judge, but to understand and forgive still a loved one is necessary to move forward.
