“This Gaurav is a good guy, but so practical and right that it’s just sickening.” (I thought this movie was about doubles until the last day).
By the way, this is the main intrigue of the film. More, in fact, there is nothing catching here (well, except Siddhartha himself, but more on this below.). This is a combination: action + comedy, purely entertaining cinema without any prospect of staying in long favorites or revisiting, but it is perfect to pass the evening without straining your brains. Claimed as a prequel to Bang Bang, but there was no particular connection between them, except for a few common points in the arrangement of characters and topics in general - a film about spies, special agents and their special tasks. In short, the representative of office plankton Gaurav lives in America, works in a large company, buys a house and a car, and dreams of proposing to his girlfriend Kavier. But Kavya is ready to perceive him only as a friend - he is too right, there is no flaw in him, and also no highlight. And somewhere in another reality, in India, special agent Rishi simultaneously cracks down on bandits, participates in steep chases and in general, lives a life diametrically opposite to that of Gaurav. And this parallelity baffled me and a little confused, which of course, the writers in the plus. The downside is that there is no spark between the actors, and that upset me. I love Jacqueline Fernandez, she's so positive and sweet, a lighter, and paired with Siddhart had to "light up." But it didn't work. And that was the biggest puncture.
I want to talk about Siddhartha separately. I’ve been following him since Student of the Year and unfortunately his career is worse than Varun’s. I don't know how to explain it. A handsome man with the eyes of a cocker spaniel and some kind of true intelligence (even when he plays not very intelligent guys) should have conquered everyone and everything, but his films often fail. People don't go after him. That once again confirms the fact that in Bollywood is not important talent, and not even appearance, and connections and competent PR. I don’t know, I like him wildly and I hope he stays in the film industry and takes it to the next level. In general, it is sad to see that talents are removed from time to time, and every shushera sculpts several films a year, even if they fail – they continue to be shot.
Like I said, it’s comedy too. Of the funny moments I remember: how Gaurav sang at the party - I think that Siddhart sang himself, it was very ridiculous. The bear not only stepped in his ear, but also trampled. But it was funny and a bit embarrassing for the hero - but then everything got better. Next: the scene in the bar, when Sid had to hook a man — gay jokes rarely make me laugh, but it's really hilarious. Sid is handsome and blue, and normal, and under what kind of sauce. And the way they and a friend hid the body in the Sidova apartment (and then a friend begged him - give me a task to work for the glory of the Motherland!). Of course, there were a lot of stupid moments, just fantastically stupid: for example, when Gaurav asks Kaviu, can she shoot? To which Kavya responds, “Of course this is America!” Well, this is complete nonsense, I won't believe that an office dandelion knows how to shoot right and left, as if she was born with a gun in her hands. Somewhere else in the hinterland, in some Alabama or Texas on a farm or ranch, a woman can shoot (because she needs it, hardly anything), but in the city ... The game is full. And there were a lot of such inconsistencies. Which, however, did not prevent you from enjoying the action. I read that Sid performed all the tricks himself, and in general he tries to do everything himself, smart boy, which once again goes to his credit.
I’m also happy that Sunil Shetty is back in the movies after almost three years away (maybe he hasn’t done any more). With a new beginning (and there they began to cut their hair with these pearls, man), he became younger, and again in the ranks. Nice to meet you.
Well, that's all, if you want to have a nice evening - then definitely watch.
