"For the first time in my life I allowed myself to feel ..." Charlie, a charming and damn attractive womanizer, had everything to enjoy life: a high-paying job, devoted friends and an endless string of beauties, and eager to spend with him not only the evening. The heart is under reliable armor and no emotional worries. And who knows how long this “ugliness” would last, if it were not for a completely stupid argument with friends and seductive Eva.
So, quite the usual and, it seems, already boring way, there is a set of the film "Ideal choice". But to pin high hopes on the fact that quite an average beginning will anticipate a fascinating, entertaining, funny romantic story, is not worth it. Frame by frame in a cheerful pace, the plot develops along a rolled track. To predict not only the course of development, but also the final will not be any work. It is, in general, forgivable, if more than compensated for the impressive emotional component, a weighty share of humor or brightness, depth, charm of the characters. But I didn’t find anything like that for almost a hundred minutes. The “stagedness” of what was happening was persistently striking in the eye – stretched, chewed to the smallest detail, dialogues, excessive playfulness of the situations that arose and the stiffness of the actors. The feeling of unnaturalness could no longer be avoided. Therefore, it is no wonder that the story of how Charlie, getting rid of his heart-warming armor, learned to feel life again, not that it did not hurt, but did not leave any good impressions. Which, by the way, does not upset at all, because there were no special hopes or expectations before watching.
Not fascinated by what is happening on the screen, still do not rule out options when the film will appeal to any of the audience. It all depends on your preferences. “Ideal choice” is an easy, unobtrusive, sometimes cheerful, superficial picture that can not so much brighten up as pass the time. If this mix is exactly what the viewer is looking for here and now, why not start watching? . .
