“He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and with beasts; and the angels served him” (Mark 1:13). I loved this film, directed by American director, producer, actor and editor Jesse Low. A wonderful poster for the film, the slogan “Faith against fear” and the production of the film is successful. The script turned out to be surprisingly informative and interesting, although it would seem that you will write there, because the Bible does not say much about the forty days spent by Jesus in the desert. Still, the filmmakers managed to create a tense and thrilling atmosphere of Christ’s temptation. The temptation of Jesus Christ, described in the New Testament, lasted forty days and was a fast without water or food in the desert, where Christ was raised by the Spirit after baptism. Temptation was hunger, pride and faith.
Jesus Christ, in solitude, prayer, and fasting, prepared himself for the mission with which he came to earth. The devil came to Jesus to seduce him into sin, like any man.
Writer and film producer DJ Perry uses scripted quotes and references from Christ’s past and future life on earth. Excellent camera work.
I will also note the wonderful acting of DJ Perry (Christ), the scenery, accurate dialogue and thoughtful mise-en-scene.
Those who are familiar with this story of the Lord Jesus Christ will appreciate the film. Others will also be able to learn for themselves the lessons of humility and patience, to understand the essence of the Christian God and his feat on earth. Thank you to the authors.
