It’s a story that needs to be given a second chance. If you forgot, put on pause, decided to refuse - do not cut off the shoulder, it is worthy of your emotions.
As always, the story is the last thing I pay attention to. The basis, the foundation of the series is a soulful response to the actions, the play of the characters, their words and experiences. So I want to scream at every corner. I burn, explode, but humbly breathe out and smile. That's what I actually experience when I'm done. They touched, touched, tickled deep inside.
Wee Hajun. I am so sorry that I met him live (being in another country) before seeing this picture. If only I knew I was going to pass by a man who made me revel in tears, awakened all compassion and empathy, reminded me of his personal morality. A truly greater discovery. Indescribable charisma, charming smile and honest eyes. Crazy and knocked off his feet. He has settled in the heart.
Lee Donuk, a long-loved actor, never gives reason to doubt his vocation to be a creator. He created a new kind of insanity, so eager to follow him, repeat every step. With his special charm, keeping in check from episode to episode.
And most importantly, it is a unique bromance, a clash of two selves, in an attempt to return to the long-overgrown road of honor that goes in step with conscience and the echoing voice of reason. As a reminder that there is still life inside.
What's the main conflict? The inner struggle of morality is right/wrong, good/bad, honest/dishonest.
What can you experience while watching? Anger, laughter, sadness, happiness, aggression, acceptance, anxiety, pride.
Would you like to bet? I started watching two years ago and I didn’t like it. The first episode seemed boring, so I decided to switch. Maybe it was the wrong time and the wrong place, but today I am grateful to myself that I accidentally clicked on the “turn on” button, just flipping through the film. Thanks.
In general, the drama left behind quite contradictory feelings. On the one hand, it was very interesting to watch everything, but on the other hand, I often did not understand the essence of what was happening, especially in the first series. The drama is quite dynamic and there is literally something going on in each series that I love. But it is better to evaluate the drama in more detail.
Plot.
Strangely enough, the storyline revolves around one specific police officer, Ryu Su-yol. Our fighter for justice stands out for his ability to twist any case as he will be asked for a high fee. So when Su-Yeolya suddenly overtakes some biker in a helmet and starts drowning him in a sauna, the gv is full of confidence that it is one of the detractors, of which he may have many. Literally immediately, the viewer is given to understand that something is wrong here, because when the policeman asks others if they saw a man wearing a helmet, everyone looks at him as if he was crazy: no one except Su-yol saw him, even the cameras in the sauna did not film anything suspicious. It turns out that the head of the main character is not all right and suddenly wakes up in him a sharpened sense of justice in the face of Kay - the very man in the helmet. After that, Su-yol’s life takes an incredible turn: he has to adapt to his schizophrenia, because Kay will not let the hero live in the usual way and will help him not only understand himself, but also find one maniac who nightmares Korea.
Characters.
Ryu Su-yol.
A kind of detective who does not know how to fight, but has a living mind. It is not surprising, because without him to close cases with the right decision will be quite difficult. Our hero hides one serious secret, which he subconsciously blocked, against which Kay appeared. But in general, we can say that the hero is charming, and his character is gradually changing for the better against the background of the influence of his alter ego. Lee Dong Wook did a great job in this role, for which he deserves applause.
Kay.
The second personality of the main character. It is characterized by an explosive nature, used to solve all problems using brute force and fists. It is also worth noting its simplicity, sociability, childishness, which Su-yol lacks. We can say that his second personality complements the main character, helps him get rid of vices, achieve balance in character. The main reason for his appearance is revealed in the second half of the drama. Wee Ha Joon just perfectly fit into the role and their tandem with Lee Dong Wook-business card of the entire series.
Speaking about the staging of scenes and frames, we can say that the creators managed to create a kind of corridor of memories of the protagonists, where he finds his mental injuries and tries to cope with them. Of course, the very concept of showing memories through the door is quite cliched, but in this case it is more than appropriate. Of course, there are moments that do not suit me, because sometimes the character with all the evidence screws up and loses & #39; battle & #39; but at the same time is able to get out of desperate situations on enthusiasm alone. In general, I liked the drama very much, I did not let go for a second.
9 out of 10
“Only a mad rebel believes that he can change the world, and therefore only changes it.”
This is a light, dynamic, non-boring action movie with elements of tragicomedy about hunting for hucksters and corrupt officials, which, starting from the middle, smoothly flows into a psychological, intriguing, powerful detective thriller about hunting for a psychopath, and also the hunt of a psychopath for a stalker, but at the same time does not lose a crazy atmosphere and energy when without brakes with a run of forehead against face or from a leg when the roof is ripped off.
I personally do not attract and boring the topic of corruption, the mafia, although unravelling the tangle in this drama was interesting in part, but then was pleasantly surprised by the twists of the plot and genre, and also games, manipulations in the style of Hannibal, but here the detective is not inferior to the killer, bends his line, leading his game, and can himself get out with his forces and ingenuity famously from the existing difficult situations.
Some intrigues, though spoiled, quickly drained ahead of time as everything is (I will not disclose which, but there directly suggested a move where the viewer is being fooled into driving different versions of what is happening, especially in the penultimate series), but some turns and transitions were on the tower.
It is also worth noting the good presentation of not a new topic with dri, and the idea with the second I Ryu Suyol, who as the embodiment of his inner child, indignant with injustice in the world, with his maximalism, naivety, eager to do good as a superhero, who sits in many adults, the one whose eyes they saw the world and who they would like to be in childhood, if this world did not eventually devour, chew and spoil them in the process of adjusting to it. A world that changes us. But the show clearly suggests that we can change the world. Like ourselves. We decide who we are.
Oh and yes, the charismatic, murderous and explosive duo of Lee Dong Wook and Wee Ha Joon is just beautiful and is the hallmark of this show. Their interaction, the distribution of lures, and the steering wheel transitions to one from the other, until the line between them gradually becomes thinner and does not erase at all, the shooting, the main soundtracks. I especially liked the reception where Ryu Soo Yel was reflected in the camera or mirror at the moment when we were shown Kay coughing up questions. Secondary characters are also interesting and imbued with them.
Raised plus sensitive and ever-relevant topics, self-belief, harmony with oneself, and the theme of indifference, when bad things happen with the permission of good people, and gaslighting, and child helplessness before a harsh life, and problems with corruption, from which almost all the problems come. But what is not fully explained is the standard clichéd message that life cannot be taken away from those who spoil it or turn it into a living hell. That is, it is understandable that this is how the line is drawn between bad and good guys, who the main character was and who he became, rethinking everything, passing the path of formation and development, after adjusting the brains and a good shake-up, choosing a different path in life. But where is the alternative, where is the answer to being a child, if no one can help but himself to escape oppression, if he cannot kill? Where to go, how to defend yourself? Tolerate? Suicide? Go crazy and split? Swallow and accumulate in yourself all the rage of despair of powerlessness that you have to endure, suppressing the desire to slap for humiliation, like the main character, wait until you grow up and can not resist the grown uncles (and it is doubtful that you can, if uncles have all the wealth), until the lump that is already stuck in your throat, one fine last day will blow up your tower, throwing out everything that so extinguished and kept inside all these years? Looking for a good cop among the bad ones to save you from hell? Or, as an adult, digging evidence on a scoundrel who can buy courts, killers, and commit lawlessness while they try to record a confessional voice for months?
Okay, I won't pour water. In general, the series, of course, is not without blunders and stupid actions of the characters to move the plot, not without the cliche of villains, although with human features like the main character, who also has not clean hands and he is not in a white coat initially, but gradually turns into a knight of modernity, but the pros in it still outweigh for me, so I give the green light.
If you need to wash a black dog to white, call Lieutenant Ryu Su-yol, for a good price, he easily comes up with versions and adjusts the evidence to them, delighting the authorities with good indicators. Therefore, when a rabid biker drags him out of the sauna and begins to drown him in the pool, the thought of the scoundrel's retribution comes, but then it becomes clear that Su-yol's brains were straightened ... Su-yol himself, suddenly discovering a split personality, getting acquainted with his second "I" named Kei, who prevents Su-yol from living by his old rules.
The script, of course, is specially made for two persons: for Lee Dong-uk (as Su-yol) and Wee Ha-jun (as Kei), the first works for drama, and the second - for action: power and intelligence, intelligence and strength, an exotic partnership of actors enjoying the opportunity to fool around in a prejudice-free tragicomedy, where even what contradicts common sense is permissible, like a living bait in the person of the dearest officer Oh Kyung-ta (Chha Hag-yong), who remains on the second plot of his little girl.
Adhering to the hooligan style, the screenwriters freely turn to any norms and rules, almost sliding into a pure parody of law and order, consistently laying out more and more weighty maps on the table, making up a chain of criminal events that go from an inconspicuous murder to the authorities, to corrupt policemen and drug syndicates, sneaking up behind the main character, who sees the blood he spilled.
Filmed spectacularly, spectacularly and, according to the title, insanely, giving madness complete freedom of hands and absolute absence of brakes, extracting from serious topics a real circus performance where the power is not in the truth, but in the feelings experienced by good and bad people, from an angelic officer to a bloodthirsty drug dealer, not devoid of subtle soul strings.
Most of all goes to Su-yol, who from the closet open by Kay falls out a large, large skeleton, forcing him to wander through the corridors of memory, trying to remember himself - who he will be, and to understand himself is a hundred times more difficult than any other investigation, so his ridiculous psychosis does not look like a vulgar joke when the topic of gaslighting arises, and the brave policeman becomes the object of sophisticated psychological manipulation, turning doubts into fear and fear into doubt.
You'll see to the end. Let it be a flat, template, largely predictable drama, in which from the first minutes of the first series the problem of the protagonist becomes obvious - do not go to the fortune teller.
What is the audience’s interest in “Bad and Crazy”? Intrigue? On the detective line, on the crime line? Comedy or drama? On the psychological depth of character development? No, no, no. On the fan service bromance of the main character Ryu Su Yel (Li Dong Uk) with himself - Kei (Vi Ha Jun).
Who cares about the line Su Yel (Li Dong Wook) and Hi Gem (Han Ji Yun)? Another thing is Kay and Su El.
Every appearance of Kei (Wee Ha Joon) is the sponsor of a wide smile on the whole face. How incredible he is in action scenes! In the open access there is a video from the filming of the drama, where the actor always amazes with his mobility, flexibility and dexterity of dodging. Watching it in action is a pleasure even for those who are not fans of the genre. Seeing Wi Ha Joon so positive and energetic after his final dramatic appearance in Squid Game with the words "In Ho, why..." is exactly what we've been missing.
Ryu Soo Yel (Li Dong Wook) Throw me slippers, but the militants are not his. Romance, drama, comedy, yes, but not action. He's for that -- I don't know. The deep look of the actor suggests that he is inclined to thought, not to action. His very figure, appearance - all speaks of some kind of monumentality, because of which in some scenes he looks even a little clumsy.
The weakest part of drama is logic. And since the writers are not friends with her, the viewer will not be able to grasp at least something that would make him believe in the whole story. At first, you even catch yourself thinking about whether technology has advanced so far (while we were sitting here watching dramas) that you can take evidence with your bare hands. Especially indicative in terms of the shaky rational foundations of the final series – the storyline of confrontation with the antagonist, where Su El already had all the trump cards on his hands, but the writers had a different plan, so they twisted over him as they could.
And in general, since the second half of the series, comedy smoothly flows into drama. As expected, the creators of “Bad and Crazy” decide to acquaint us with the origins of the problem of the hero, but, alas, go along a long-trodden path (remember at least “Kill me, heal me”). At the same time, there are no claims to the visualization of the subconscious and consciousness of the hero - everything is spectacular and symbolic. It was interesting to see the changes in clothing. As Su Yel finds harmony with himself, his shirts become less contrasting with Kay, as a result, the hero and subpersonality become so close that they appear to us in the same form.
It raises questions and the correctness of the title of the drama. If you identify the “bad” as Ryu Su Yel (Lee Dong Wook) and the “crazy” as Kei (Wee Ha Joon), things don’t fall into place. Su Yel can be called unscrupulous, at times a mattress or sloppy, but certainly not “bad”. As for Kay, the fact that he does not transcend his hero as a subpersonality, you can not say that he is crazy. He's a hero. A hero who does anything for justice or love.
From the point of view of a carrier of culture, it will be interesting to look at how the Russian is represented in the drama. The word “go” here acquires new meanings.
Despite the fact that the creators of “Bad and Crazy” made attempts to focus the viewer’s attention on the evolution of Ryu Soo Yel, the greatest strength of the project until its completion is still the incredible chemistry of Lee Dong Wook and Wi Ha Joon. A good decision was to stop at 12-part timekeeping. Some depth from the cinema of this genre should not be expected. Here the hero prosaically encounters evil in its most obvious manifestation and attempts to eradicate it with varying degrees of ingenuity.
It's as if the movie is all psychopaths, savages, clowns. Except for one boy. It's pathetic. Lots of fights, violence and blood. The movie is cool. It's all very interestingly twisted. The boy's the main character, right around Ha Joon. And in principle, this bromance pair is beautiful. Laughing in her voice. For those of you who lacked the emotional Don Wook, you're a hollow.
