I wonder what exactly made the producers of the franchise “American Pie” decided that the last film – “The Naked Mile” – they did well?
And they definitely decided that, since Eric Lindsay was again responsible for the script (or, more correctly, for its absence), and the main characters are the same characters as the last time. And the director and the screenwriter are again looking for the secret of the success of the original trilogy in the abundance of naked female bodies.
That's what it is. The training made them believe in themselves. Despite the poor quality, the Naked Mile made a profit. Small, but given that the film was released immediately on DVD, without rental in the movies, then probably the results of the film bosses satisfied, and they gave the continuation the green light.
It’s pretty hard to write about a movie that’s not much different than its predecessor. Dwarves as the main opponents were replaced by nerds, instead of the former figure skaters, new ones came, one handsome man was drunk from the friends of the main character, but another was added instead (plus a fat man without complexes - apparently, to walk like that). In the last film, there was a crazy party contest, in this one there was an equally crazy Greek Games. The music is the same, no music. Even the long-suffering Eugene Levy - and he is in place.
Except that the love line this time was abolished. The passion of Eric Stifler from the previous part evaporated, and he decided not to have a new girlfriend. Well, that is, there is a beauty around during the film, but there is no talk of love here.
Probably, in an attempt to single out his film with something, Lindsay even got into zoophilia. Remember that moment in Part Three when Jim and Stifler got into a thorny cake and dog situation? Well, if there was just an awkward situation there, it's intentional sex. Not with a dog, but with a sheep. Thank you for the fact that this is mostly behind the scenes.
It's scary to think about what awaits us in the next part.
The result: honestly earned
Many say that the American Pie franchise has long rolled, and this film is the last attempt to make money on the popular brand. Here on the account of the brand you can still agree, but after watching this part, I was satisfied, and very much. And this was neither when watching Music Camp nor the Naked Mile.
I had high hopes for the Naked Mile. I knew it was going to be a stupid, stupid comedy, but I was hoping for some great fun. Unfortunately, I didn’t see it, just a couple of funny moments. And the whole thing is depressing. But we met a new member of the Stifler family - Dwight. In principle, he is responsible for all the fun. But in that part he was a character of the second plan, and here he was brought to the first, which undoubtedly benefited.
Therefore, after the dull previous films, Trouble in the dorm looks cheerful, cheerful, again thanks to Dwight, played by the talented Steve Talley.
In an interview, screenwriter Eric Lindsay said he gave the character his character. And while studying, when his parents refused to pay for the last year, he and his friends went to Vegas, bought a blackjack table and roulette, and opened a casino in his brotherhood house. That's how I paid for school. A full life in a person.
As for the film, all scenes are in place, the plot is more or less focused, unlike its predecessor. So in its genre it is a very worthy film.
Reasoning objectively, the picture pulls a maximum of 5 points, if you compare it with really decent tapes that carry a semantic message, any good idea. However, this spectacle is designed for a certain audience and it is foolish to expect something smart from a film called American Pie 6: Trouble in the dorm. The sixth piece of cake will not please everyone and it is natural.
If you evaluate it with all rigor, wearing the mask of a high-browed critic, you can safely say that there is nothing but propaganda of a rampant lifestyle here, and this creation is aimed at corrupting young people.
But in the end, people with such high demands, who do not tolerate obscene jokes, should not come close to this film. He has his own audience. And the main function is to entertain - Stir in the dorm performs. Therefore, as a fan, I would put 6-7 points (I have a weakness for such paintings), but with an eye on the first 3 parts only
5 out of 10
P.S. I am ashamed to admit that I have watched it so many times that I have long lost count.
Plot. This time, Eric goes to the dorm by car with his father. I'll be honest, his father's just chill pepper. When he introduced his son to girls and they refused him, he made such a face - mother do not grieve. I loved the scene of Eric's sperm being sent out by Rapid. Hochma. There was also a funny moment when Eric was saving a young sexy couple from death. I wasn't laughing like a child. Of course, the Olympics are a bomb. Stifler versus Edgar. When they shot horse sperm, it was something. Also liked was the appearance in the film of Rock, who hinted at Stifler's weakness in his college opponent Edgar. In general, the comedy, although indecent, but still funny turned out. Along with the Naked Mile. It’s the same thing, by and large.
Actors play. John White, as always, burned to the full program - and slept with girls, vomited, and even masturbated. As usual. Steve Tully is just a scumbag here - just like in the previous film. Jim's dad just showed up to help the guys out of the cage. Anyone who's watched will understand. I don’t really know the other actors, but all the stars did a hurrah in this scandalous comedy.
The scenery. Everything is very, very beautiful - The Sex Olympics are just beautiful - especially when the guys with the girls' bras were taking off and then the girls were rubbing against the guys. Anyway, all the guys are pretty, just like the girls.
Bottom line: American Pie: The Dormhouse Trouble is a real funny youth comedy. She's depraved and depraved. But that's why she's a youth comedy. Watch everyone - rest and laugh from the heart at American youth and their separation. I wouldn't recommend a bad one. Anyway, look and laugh. I take one point off for too much crap at the end of the movie. My assessment:
... Add incompatible or expired ingredients. “American Pie” fell in love with the youth from the first part, and the first three films went to “hurrah”, followed by “spin-offs”, released immediately on video, bypassing theaters, and many were disappointed with the excessively kind fourth part, others did not appreciate too obscene fifth part. By the way, the fourth part of some did not like due to the lack of favorite characters, and if this part was the first, then “eat” with pleasure. But if this sixth part was the first, do you think it would be such a cult film? Never! They wouldn’t even shoot a sequel to it, because it would be a failed film, it would be rated as a typical stupid comedy. But when three successful parts of AP and two spin-offs were filmed, which also found their audience, the sixth part was watched by almost everyone.
It is strange that the rating of this part on Kinopoisk is half a point higher than the fifth and seventh parts, when this part is the most worthless. What is American Pie? It's a story about boys growing up and losing their virginity, and always about love. Is there any of this in Part Six? Nothing. Growing up guys? They may have grown up, but life has taught them nothing. Loss of virginity? Eric Stifler slept with his girlfriend in the fifth part, but here it turns out that he broke up with her for an unknown reason, and now he is free. Love? Show me one love line in this part! There is nothing here but debauchery. From the very beginning, we are shown unseemly frank scenes, and throughout the film the main characters do nothing but break away and achieve the next hangouts. The nail of this part is a parody of the Olympic Games, here similar competitions are distinguished by the most incredible necessities, and this is the only thing that can keep the screen. Moreover, these games are held by none other than the same Jim’s dad, who is favorable to crazy teenagers and perfectly understands their desire to “delay.” But with the main characters of this part is complete darkness. If in the fifth film at least it was clear who the main character is, then here all the characters are on the same face - here and Eric and Dwight Stiflers, and some Ryan and Kuz, which are nothing special, unlike the main characters of the first trilogy, where all the characters were like a selection, each with their own quirks.
And in general, this part looks absolutely implausible. What is worth is that no one is studying in college, and everyone is only having fun, and the old hosts of the dormitory - nerds (!) begin competitions for ownership of this territory. Guliaks vs. nerds! That's crazy, gentlemen. As for humor, it is much less than in the rest of the pie. Such humor is for an amateur, it will be appreciated primarily by schoolchildren who laugh at sex in any of its manifestations. Here you and ejaculation on your favorite toy girl, and shots in the mouth of horse semen, and even zoophilia in the literal sense of the word. Yes, all this can make fun of – after all, it’s not as idiotic nonsense as “Indecent Movie”, made like “cakes”, but the fact that this part can only be useful for stupid squealing does not color this film. This is the stupidest part of the most beloved youth comedy.

"American Pie: Stir in the dorm" - another youth comedy. Continuations of "American Pie" after the third part turned out to be all lame and incredibly banal. This comedy is discouraged by its banality, stupid humor and lack of atmosphere and something interesting. If the actors created an incredibly funny and attractive atmosphere in the first three films of "American Pie", then in this film everything looked stupid, dull, and most importantly not interesting and not funny.
We see the protagonist as another cousin of Stifler, went to college and moved to live in a dormitory. Here he was waiting for new adventures, a lot of sex, desire and beautiful, young girls. We see the commotion in the dormitory and the comic story of a near hero who all the time gets into awkward situations.
When you watch this comedy, you see that all the humor of the film is sucked out of your finger. The jokes are worn out and not funny. We have seen all this in previous films. The comedy sucked and wasn't interesting. The young actors in this film are not impressive, and I didn’t like anyone. When watching the movie, it was supposed to be funny, but somehow everything was ugly and stupid. This movie didn't work. Everything looked incredibly played, and the creators of this film did not believe in the realism of what was happening. This comedy sucks, it's a shame the time wasted on it. The movie did not work and it is not worthy of attention.
Another bin comedy.
The offshoot of the main series behind the number “three”, “Trouble in the dormitory”, turned out to be much weaker than the previous two, although the idea of the film is entertaining: one dormitory caused another to duel. A duel refers to the Greek Games, a series of short, crazy contests. Whoever wins the most competitions will win the Greek Games. The loser will leave his dorm to the winners. Of the competitions, you can note the removal of bras for speed - who is faster.
All this is great and kind of even fun, but for some reason, along with the characters of the picture, you do not want to have fun, as it was in the case of Music Camp to a greater extent and The Naked Mile to a lesser extent. Whether endless jokes about sex had time to eat, or what else, but when watching the film involuntarily catch yourself missing.
How are the numbered parts of American Pie different from the offshoots? In each film, the main characters have a goal, and they move towards it throughout the film, whether it is the first sex, sex with a foreign woman or a wedding (1-3 parts of American Pie, respectively). In the branches, there is some aimless narrative, trying to imitate the numbered parts - hence the jokes about the genitals, pseudo-Stiflers and in general a lot of everything that was in principle and in the numbered parts, but here it is tamped in some unimaginable quantities, which will bring to a bad tone.
Each American Pie offshoot is made up of just one idea that came to the minds of the writers, to which everything else is pulled by the ears, whether it’s a musician’s camp, the Naked Mile marathon, or the Greek Games from Dormitory Trouble. In the numbered parts, in addition to the main idea, there were many side, no less interesting story branches.
And in general, when watching “Trouble in the dormitory”, the general dampness of the film is felt. He lacks something that, for example, was in the same “music camp”. Showers, I guess. The actors themselves deserve to play the roles entrusted to them. After all, under other circumstances, a good comedy could come out of Trouble, if you consider it in isolation from the franchise. But within the framework of the cult series "Trouble in the dorm" - a frank passerman.
What are the main ingredients of a fun student life? This is, first of all, the opportunity to study at the university (college). The prospects are bright in the future. But, the joy is not in attending classes, doing homework and getting good grades. There is no limit to the distribution of your free time. And it is doubly pleasant if you have good friends, ready for any adventure in search of new sensations. These are parties and concerts, ridiculous and strange situations that add a separate charm. And when all this is there, one can safely hope that the university years will be fun, and nostalgia for these times will remain for a lifetime. "American Pie: A Trouble in the Dorm."
The plot in the spirit of "American Pie 2" takes us to college (university?), where finally entered already well-known on the "Naked Mile" friends led by Eric Stifler. All the same adventures, stupid and funny situations in the desire to join a fraternity "Beta", headed by Dwight Stifler. And the final battle for territory and respect with the house of botanists. Just? No, no, it's gonna be a sweat.
The belief that they had attacked the gold mine gave the creators confidence, and they made a new attempt to revive the former success of the American Pie franchise. More less formed in the “Naked Mile” characters migrated to this picture and they were to become a new subject of adoration from fans of “American Pie”. But what are the chances that the sixth in a row can compete with the original trilogy? The state of affairs reflected the fees from the sale of DVDs, almost halved compared to the "Naked Mile". From this logically follows the idea that “Trouble in the dormitory” deserves even less attention than the previous part. However, to my great surprise, in comparison, the tape turned out quite good, and in some respects even better than the fifth film.
The characters are already known to us, which means that the film is perceived much easier and there is no uncomfortable feeling that usually arises when getting acquainted with a new story and characters. Plus number one. The plot looks a little crumpled and fragmented, which can be mistakenly attributed to the lack of ideas. But it's just the opposite. Ideas from the writers turned out to be more and in this regard, “Trouble in the dorm” wins the “Naked Mile”. Trying to tell the viewer as much as possible, the creators have to largely sacrifice the integrity of the narrative, making it quite dynamic and nonequilibrium. It’s probably better than watching American football for almost ten minutes, as it was in the last movie. Plus number two. Yes, the ideas themselves and the situations in which the characters fall look silly, albeit partially worn-out, but rather funny and not falling out of the storyline. As such, there is no sparkle, sometimes blows dry. But at least the story made you smile (and sometimes laugh) more often. The level of vulgarity and eroticism remained at a consistently high level. It can be pleasant in places, boring in places. But, again, when there is no way to take quality, you have to take quantity. Plus or not, you're the judge.
Just in case, let me remind you that such a laudatory review of “Trouble in the dormitory” is based solely on its comparison with the previous part. Nostalgic for the original trilogy hope for the triumphant return of “American Pie” is not worth it. This is just another funny and interesting action that does not claim the laurels of the winner. I think it deserves a one-time view.
