"Time runs unnoticed." I was hoping I could be with you until the first snow.
There’s a bit of frustration in every expectation, especially when things don’t turn out the way they imagined. So the main character of this story broke down quite severely, when instead of bequeathed grandfathers of millions, he received a “link” to the rural backwater with a strict restriction on “pocket” expenses. He is forced to go to school like all ordinary students, and not the “golden” boy, to lead an ordinary life – shopping, cleaning, cooking, etc. Boring? Hurt? But all this passes when Eun Hwang appears in his life - an ordinary girl, simple and trusting.
The strange girl catches, and most importantly, unlike other classmates, keeps a distance from Jae Ken. And he tries to stay away from her at first, too, but he doesn't succeed. Time after time, they collide until he recognizes her as a childhood friend to whom he once made a promise, but never managed to fulfill it. Childhood feelings are mixed with the first love and he is ready to confess to her, but finds out that he is late. What to do when neither doctors, nor money, nor prayer can help?
Again, these ambivalent feelings after watching, when the first half of the film laughs at the funny Jae Ken, his cool relationship with Eun Hwan, and the second – barely hold back tears. A pure and gentle story, painfully vital and sad. And so many little things and memorable moments - nail coloring, dandelions, staging in the theater, waiting for the first snow, care and support, and silent prayer for the most precious - time.
They say you don’t have to wait for happiness... waiting leads to nothing. One must be able to be happy in the present moment, be it for a day, two, an hour or a few minutes, catch the grains of happiness and cherish them. And you can not postpone it for later... after all, the words that I wanted to say, the hug that I wanted to give, the kiss – can remain unsaid, not done.
Hyun Bin played great - believed every word, gesture, facial expressions. The experience changed his character, from a “bad” boy, he turned into a man whose pain from first love made him grow up. It is a pity that through such pain the desire of Eun Hwang was realized - "To grow up". Lee Yong Hee - looked great with him in a pair. The “good girl”, at first detached, imperiously patronizing, even in some way a boy ... but she had to be strong that she lived to fulfill her dream ... or at least tell her closest person about it. And this scene under the umbrella, when he recognized in it that little girl, walks in the field with dandelions, the hospital and the “dose of medicine”, that will give strength to wait for cold snowflakes, softly falling from the sky.
I really liked the movie, one of my favorites. Some call it the Korean version of “Hurry to Love,” but not me. Despite some common ideas, they are different. If in “Hurry to Love” we are shown the jewel of time as time to do everything you dreamed of, to fulfill your desires. It is here - gently and unobtrusively reminding that the most important thing is to be happy.
