Save nature, save ourselves! Let the greens bloom from the rain, let the wind play with the leaves of the trees, let the birds sing with different voices, and you listen to one story. This story is about mischief and wisdom, about kindness and understanding of others and about a special friendship.
I watched an Indian children's film for the first time. It's a children's game, because the main characters are children. The film is made according to the type of our cinema of the USSR era for children. Although he stood at me for a viewing of the filmography of Mithun Chakraborty (I did not know that he starred in a children's movie, but who else but him to play in such a film?). There's no film description here, so I'll tell you a little bit about it.
So, in the Indian city of Mumbai, there are four children (although there are a million children in Mumbai, but this film is about these four children), they are 11-12 years old and they are all in the same class. They had a tall, strong, pretty boy Karan. He's also the smartest of all. His friends are always something chewing fat man Laddu; a thin, frail, but also pretty boy Ritesh and a small, pretty, very brave and furry girl Priya. He lives in a sleeping area of Mumbai, goes to school, in his spare time play cricket in the yard, like to play tricks and shame. It would seem like ordinary children, what to tell about them. But this is where the most interesting things begin. Opposite the children’s house, across the street, on the sidewalk in the tent, lives a poor old man (Mithun in this role is chic, and his makeup is something, the highest score for makeup guys). He has long gray hair, a beard that almost completely hides his face and a sharp, watching eye. Because of this, the children fear him and even gave him the nickname "Monster". The old man always carries a large canvas bag on his shoulder. He never leaves her, not even in his sleep. And now our heroes begin to to torment curiosity, what is so valuable can a poor old man in a bag that he never part with her? I must say that this question torments them very much, and they come up with different ways to get to this bag and see what is in it. It all looks very funny.
And one day they decide to build a house on a beautiful spreading tree growing in their yard to make an observation post. Next to the children's house, a large high-rise building is being built around which building material is always lying. And then one evening, when all the workers from the construction site went home, Karan decided to steal some boards from there for his tree house. He climbed into the construction site and came across there a boy, his age. The boy's name is Ram, he and his mother (Sima Biswas) work on this construction site, they are very poor, they do not have a home and so he and his mother and little four-year-old brother live right on the construction site in a hastily assembled barracks. Ram has never gone to school, because from an early age he has to work, cannot read or write, but he is naturally very gifted. Without knowing anything about engineering and construction, he can easily draw a drawing of any building. When he grows up, he dreams of becoming an architect. I think here some details of how the boys became friends can be omitted, this is for yourself. In general, children accept the "Rama" in their company. And now there are five.
In general, they built this house, began to spend their free time on it and watch the old man. But one day, their tree was in danger. The owner of this building, a formidable and evil gentleman Bakshi (Gulshan Grover), decided to cut down the tree because he did not see the advertising banner of his construction company. Although he constantly pretends in front of clients and the press that he loves nature and protects it. And he does it all with a nice smile on his face. Gulshan played the part great. Although with his experience and potential, this is quite common for him.
And the children begin to save their tree, coming up with various tricks and tricks to scare away workers. During this time, they managed to make friends with the old man and learned the story of his life. They become good friends and the old man helps them protect the tree. They even forgot about his bag for a while, although it turned out to be a lot of interesting things that revealed to the children the true face of this man.
It's all very cute and funny. Watching the actions of children is very interesting and fun. Many elements in the film seem to be collected from various episodes of different Soviet films for children. So if you watch with your kids (which I highly recommend), they will love it. Trust me.
A very sweet, touching, kind film. The text reads Amitabh Bachchan. The film is beautiful songs, and although it is not long, only 1 hour 35 minutes, but it very harmoniously fit 3 songs and 2 dances. Children move very well to the music, very well get to the beat, especially when they dance together with Mithun. In general, an interesting, instructive story, containing a call (as in all Indian cinema) for the protection of nature, the environment and plants in the city. And also to help poor and disadvantaged people and animals. Every day in India, many trees are cut and felled, which causes great harm to the environment. And if this is not stopped, future generations will not know the beauty of trees, the rustling of leaves in the wind, the noise of rain in the forest. This part of the world will cease to exist.
I think that’s why Indians made this film so that children could do things that adults have not done for decades. Sensitive children’s hearts are easier to reach than adults. And it is children who can call on adults to try to save this beauty, otherwise our whole history will end.
