Only Islamic terrorists can be worse than zombies! What distinguishes this low-budget zombie thrash from others like it is the banter over the cliché of zombie horror, over the social and political cliches of America. A panicked fear of terrorists and attitudes towards sexual minorities. At the same time, the authors equally mock both the obsessive desire of these very minorities to declare themselves to everyone who meets and crosses, and the nervous attitude towards them of ordinary ordinary people.
Oh, how sweet that day started in a small town on the eve of the mayoral election. How smiling, sociable and charming the candidates are at this time. How friendly greet each other the inhabitants of the town, this hole, where everyone has known since childhood.
Frida, a Muslim girl, came from university to help her father at his cafe. And the neighbors feel compelled to say how concerned they are about the war in Iraq and want an end to this stupid big war over small oil. The girl's remark that she is an American, and her father from Iran does not change their cordiality. They think Iran is one bath.
This morning, two gay friends arrived in the city to announce to the mother of one of them that they intend to live together, this is what his partner wants so much that he cannot talk or think about anything else. Especially not. That friend keeps trying to get away from it: 'Maybe we can put it off until next year? This will be a better year than the Year of the Rooster!
This morning, a blind man was walking on the beach and came across a corpse. While he was trying to figure out what he had stumbled on, the corpse, which turned out to be a zombie, bit him. By night, the city was full of zombies. On television, the news spread across America and debate began about what happened in the small town. Discussors quickly came to the conclusion that Islamic terrorists were to blame for everything, they launched the virus. From the archives, a video was extracted and shown how last year Mohamed Mustafa from this organization threatened to punish America and the hysteria began.
And now a vigilant neighbor, who smiled at Frieda in the morning, binds the girl, chaining her handcuffs from a sex shop and begins to bring the “terrorist” to clean water, flooding with questions about the American flag, forcing her to sing the anthem and eat ham. Failing to get her to confess to terrorism and name her accomplices, he turns to torture. The fact that his wife has already turned into a zombie, he notices her. What's the zombie thing, if there's a terrorist in the house and it's her and his father's fault! The main danger is they, not zombies in their own home.
The church reads hysterical and pathetic sermons calling on all parishioners to unite against Islamic terrorists and not to forget that on their side the greatest of zombies – Jesus Christ!
But when gay friends try to hide in the church, both terrorists and zombies go to the tenth plan. The main thing is to re-educate the lost “blue” sheep and cure them with the latest methods of their “delusions”. The parishioners, led by the pastor, are so passionate about this righteous cause that they no longer care about the hordes of hungry zombies breaking into the church. What could be more important than bringing these lost sinners back to the common herd?
Especially since one especially righteous parishioner prefers to go out to the zombies than to be in the same room with gays. A little earlier, another righteous man preferred to shoot himself rather than let the “blue” into his house.
The film has a lot of similar banter, “black humor”, blood from the river, guts and torn limbs – yet this is a movie about zombies. But they are not the main characters in the film, but these mass fears, psychoses and hysteria. And ridiculed it is very caustic, funny and close-up. Like the desire of politicians to make a reputation for themselves and score political points on each tragedy, after it was overcome. There are new elections ahead. And what better strategic move than to rally a nation in the face of a common enemy and become a hero, defender and winner in this election? There's nothing better than this! In the same way, we must continue! Who will be the next Islamic terrorist?
