"Moon Lovers" is a good intriguing melodrama.
The company "Regolith" produces furniture and is rapidly gaining popularity in Japan. Regolith’s president, Hazuki Rensuke (Kimura Takuya), is a cold, businesslike and calculating man who expands production outside of Japan and decides to open a furniture factory in Shanghai, China. The problem is that where the factory is supposed to be, for some reason, is a Chinese garment factory, which employs many people living below the poverty line - so the workers began to strike. This did not particularly stop Hazuki, he just demolished the factory, and to calm the strikers – promised them golden mountains and invited one of the workers of the factory – Liu Xu Mei (who used to be the face of this garment factory) – to become a model of the company Regolith.
Liu Xu Mei is a simple, poor but very proud girl from a Chinese province. She worked in a factory, received pennies, which she tried to survive, to raise her sick mother and save money for a trip to Japan – to her father, who had long abandoned them. After the factory closed, she, like everyone else, had a bad time. And here is a suggestion from Regolith... But! Liu Xu Mei is proud, honest, eerily trusting and completely selfless. Therefore, she refuses with all her might, but in view of her personal circumstances, she still accepts the condition that the workers from the factory be employed. Then Liu Xu Mei gets into a fairy tale... looks like Cinderella? or the Little Mermaid? can not be said for sure – but Hazuki Rensuke is a well-known heartthrob (he already has a bride (a well-known model), and any girl when she meets him is ready to go to the end of the world...), and likes to give more promises than to fulfill, but... Perhaps, having met true love, his heart thaws?
Laps in the drama is also enough, for example, why a former employee of a garment factory can not sew a dress herself?.. and others, but still it does not spoil the overall positive impression of viewing.
In the drama gathered a star set of actors - Kimura Takuya, Keiko Kitagawa, Rioko Shinohara, Shota Matsuda, Tsuyoshi Abe, Gaku Hamada ... What is most important, in the 8 episodes of this series shows how important and close are people who understand you well and do not leave you in difficult times.
