I didn't kill him! I have a rather strange attitude towards the detective genre. I like to read intricate stories, wondering who will eventually be the killer – but such films are quite rare. Although, people like me are truly perfect viewers – those who are genuinely surprised by the plot twists, being unable to predict them themselves. I won’t say that this film was a perfect representative of detectives, there are some problems with logic, and the story is not as fast and dynamic as I would like. Nevertheless, the film is quite interesting. And the final turn, although not brilliant, is still surprising.
Plot
In the film, we see a successful writer who for six years can not give the world her new book. The husband disappears all day at work, completely unaware of the abandoned wife (and here and to thoughts of infidelity not far), the daughter has grown up and acquired new interests and a life in which the mother has no place. In general, the prospects are rather dull. And here on the horizon is a young and cute fan, who seems ready to take the relationship (previously only at the level of correspondence) to the next level. Are you saying it's just a love drama? No, it's much more complicated. A fan is found at home with his throat slit - and it is already completely unclear who is to blame and who is the victim.
As I said, the final denouement is not brilliant. Yes, it is unexpected (at least for me), but this is a surprise from the category: is it logical? I will not reveal the intrigue, I will only say what could be done more original.
Actors
Costas Mandilore. Played the role of a busy husband, Chase. A colorful image, a rich man so immersed in himself that he sees in his wife only the source of sex. Costas did a great job in his role, and it was very interesting to see him from that perspective. After all, he is a very diverse actor, I will not tire of repeating this.
Janine Turner. Chase's wife, Jean, the main character, the same writer. I really liked her. Not only is Janine a very beautiful woman, she also plays wonderfully. For me, it was a real discovery. She plays the role of a rich lady, she looks organically in her - I repeat, she is very beautiful, and it is easy to imagine her in reality among such luxury.
Mayiv Quinlan played Jean’s girlfriend Holly here. I also liked it, a good actress. And the duet with Janine came out beautiful, they looked very organic.
William Allen Young and Freda Fo Shen played the role of detectives investigating the murder. I have a mixed attitude towards them. It seemed to me that at some points they reacted unnaturally, especially Freda's character. In general, their heroes did not hook me. I don’t know if it’s about them or acting.
Jamie Rose Psychologist Jean, Marianne. I played well, but I didn’t see her character at first. Then the opinion changed a little, but not much.
Brittany Ishibashi and Amanda Fuller. The writer’s assistant and daughter, respectively. I can’t say much about them, except that they are both beautiful and organically fit into the overall picture. I have no complaints about their game.
Overall, I liked the film. You can spend a few interesting minutes with him, even if there are much more interesting detectives. But this picture was filmed for television - and for this role it is perfect.
