Found the braid on the rock... Before I fell face to face in the snow with a bullet in my stomach, I had everything I could want.
Great crime drama with thriller elements. Dynamic action is inflated throughout the film, events develop quite rapidly, plus the dramatic play of the actors, everything in general makes you watch with interest what is happening on the screen. The picture is distinguished by a stylish European interpretation and a completely unexpected finale. Director Christophe Blank hatched the script for a long ten years, according to him, drawing inspiration from the book of Job. Where the virtue of a person is tested by trials imposed on him from above. The very title of the film, as it speaks of the purity and innocence of the main character, and the word “Blanc” echoes the name of the director, which was done intentionally. The story is told on behalf of the main character. A very successful businessman has everything one could wish for in life. Profitable business, a huge house, children and a young beautiful wife. But one day, a companion conducting dark cases with criminals behind his back will unwittingly set him up. The whole world is falling apart like a house of cards. Unknown bandits threaten his family with death and demand fabulous money. At the same time, the cruel guys from the North do not accept any compromise. But they didn't count one, our hero has two brothers. Together, they begin a war against criminals. What you will see for yourself. The film reminds me something of another French drama “As five fingers”, which came out in the same 2010.
The picture is very well written images of brothers, the relationship between them. Not often communicated before, they are brought together by a common disaster. Faced with an unknown wild enemy, they realize that they will not be able to stand alone using only civilized methods of struggle. Trying to make it clear to the bandits that for every action there is an equal opposition. They didn't want to go that far, but there's no turning back, and the destruction mechanism is running. One inevitably superimposes the other, problems grow like a snowball, but everything goes wrong. I was particularly impressed with the acting. The performance of such actors as François Cluse and Olivier Gourmet is beyond praise here. Explosive emotions just go off the scale in their dialogues, when anger and despair are ready to break out. Cluse perfectly conveyed the impending feeling of anxiety. It's all played out very vitally. Even the current muse of Besson, beautiful Louise Burguan coped perfectly with his role. Most of all, I remember a very believable scene of a fight between the brothers in the hotel. And in general I liked that the characters of the brothers in the picture are quite vital, and not some former paratroopers or special forces.
We just had to level the playing field!
