You know, sometimes it seems to me that people from across the house, looking out the windows, want to jump out and for a moment feel virgin freedom. But later they put their sad landmines back in the house, which can only mean that they are not as bad as it seems at first glance. We see almost the same characters in the film. On a subconscious level, they all want to die or escape, so as not to suffer, succumbing to mortal sins. Such a valuable Russian cinema, offering us so much black, that sometimes it will climb out of such crevices, the existence of which we did not even suspect and can not become close to this film. All as one, the characters are freaks, representing each of the seven deadly sins. A desolate city is like a soul living out the last days. And this already suggests that the film is not just a story about money, bandits and collective farmers, but a more useful parable for those who are able to look deeper. Of course, it is not enough just to give each character a character invented by the Catholic Church (in SpongeBob, for example, this concept is also applied), you also need to make everyone move in tact. The gluttonous sponge Bob does not look as instructive and idealistic as convulsing, from his own pride, Mr. Sunshine.
In addition to an interesting story, Click decided to tell us what all these stories are made for, namely, to push us to think about our own life. He did a great job of that.
Of course, apart from all this metaphysical crap, the physical body of this film is just perfect: the music, the acting, the entourage and the speed of events (as much as possible, having a whole desert, seven people and a suitcase of money). The Cohens, by the way, turned out to be no less interesting, although less instructive.
A strange conclusion begs the following: this is a movie that should see if not everyone, then a very large percentage of thinking people. This is one of those films that does not look at the time, it is relevant and interesting now.
