One of the most artificial and fictional films I've seen. Movies like this one have Oscar and the Pink Lady, so I did Letters to God. Their plot has something in common, but in everything else - absolutely nothing. "Oscar and the Pink Lady" is a sincere gentle film. Not a masterpiece and, perhaps, is worth seeing only once, but it is interesting, sometimes funny and quite vital. In "Letters to God," life is zero.
It's completely cardboard. Every character is like a ridiculous redrawing, every line is a meaningless set of stereotypical words. No matter how someone relates to the general meaning, which, like, should convey this film, it would be possible to make a picture in general with the same message, but real and alive. And then even those who disagree with the message will be able to enjoy, and those who agree – even more so. Even in almost the same scenario, it would be possible to remove something adequate and, indeed, good. But this movie is dead. Totally and completely.
It is very difficult for me to imagine that this can be ignored. I have the possibility that the filmmakers deliberately made a rude banter. Another option is that they created something as tear-pressing as possible, they themselves understood that it turned out to be a stupid caricature, but decided to go to the end with the idea that the people are scooping. Judging by the rating, the people were apprehended.
