The old song about the main thing I have to warn everyone who is interested in this film: it is not at all like Pride and Prejudice, and the description of the film does not correspond to the plot at all. Therefore, I write this review as objectively as possible, because the film has every chance to like you.
The story revolves around two apartments bought by the successful Christine (Michelle Larock), but here is a neighbor, Jeff (Matthew Modine), who lives in one of them, does not want to leave and make room for this very Christine and her fiancé with his Napoleonic plans. Jeff himself is not a “passionate artist”, rather he is a romantic and a wonderful father to his daughter Ellie (Gina Mantegna), who at his leisure draws good pictures. Jeff most likely suffers from loneliness, so the news of his ex-wife’s wedding depresses him. A business partner makes him work, and he still does not catch the muse, and all this against the background of battles for living space.
The characters of the film are cute and funny, especially against the background of their age (which is noticeable), which is the main idea: you never know where and when you will meet the right person (what if he lives on the floor above?).
In fact, the film is quite predictable (even the jokes in it), but in the end there is a feeling that everything is as it should and intended (maybe the music also works this way). It is also simple and easy, and at the same time good at it. It is not shot to impress - the main thing is the main idea and a pleasant cast.
As a result, I do not regret the time spent. If you like quiet and cute movies, you can watch them.
