About our lives, our passions, and our search for it. La donna della mia vita (The Woman of My Life, 2010) The film began in a narrative manner and finished beautifully in it. It reminded me of old adventure novels in the spirit of Treasure Island, where the narrator lures you on a journey to find treasure. The alluring voice of the mother of retirement age begins the story of her sons: how she thought that she knew them well, because since childhood she raised them, they grew up before her eyes, and now communicates with them and knows all about them.
But the truth of life is that we put labels on people, and sometimes we do not know who we are and who for us, the woman of all life or the man of all life.
I invite you to watch this witty Italian comedy and drama simultaneously. You will like not only jokes, actors and the history of this family, where everyone is “perfect”, but also the aria “Madame Buterfly”, the interiors of bohemian apartments, the peculiar style of Italians and the atmosphere of the film.
A note for skeptics. This film, of course, does not pretend to be something grandiose, but it, in its own way, is good for the category of “light cinema” and is not empty in its content.
