French aftertaste There are wines, the beauty of which is not in the ability to immediately have fun, not in a sharply pleasant taste (usually sweets), but in the aroma that remains with you, in your taste memory, in your taste cells.
So the films of this French period, saturate our sensual memory gradually, unconsciously and only after a while you understand that you were imbued and pleasantly spiritualized by what you saw.
The main characters - three actresses and director, turning around each other (like a complex star system of some kind!) create those nuances of taste that will remain for a long time in the sensations. And this "star system" is so organic, so balanced, that it rejects an alien, imbalanced element. Why alien? Well, imagine the morning city transport, where the personal zones of passengers are established by an invisible contract, taking into account both the morning and the fact that everything goes to work/study (the electric train takes me where I do not want!) and everyone has to go and a lot of social agreements, concessions, but also rights. And here in this transport come not city dwellers, begins a loud discussion of neighbors, nepotism neighbors, dogs neighbors, chickens neighbors, colors fences neighbors! If thought could kill, these aliens would be subject to hundreds of deaths in a row or together. So in the film, the harmony of sensations, feelings rejects the “extra”.
What harmony? Imagine a woman a child mistress and a woman a lover-friend, and a woman a mistress-wife, fascinating? This is where the aftertaste comes from!
